I think if the wwe have shane and stephanie and heyman booking the matches then the wwe are half way there. They need dusty rhodes and some writers who actually know about the wwe product as writers. I mean i dunno if you guys knew this but remember rock vs austin 3? Well the guy who wrote that is doing Orton vs cena and if you know the rock, austin feud in 2003 you will see the simularities in cenas feud with orton. Orton costing cena a match like austin did with rock vs hurricane, rock running through the crowd running in the ring austin goes for the stunner but rock ducked and slid under the bottoms ropes. Thats what orton did last week on raw. What im saying is we have seen this before wwe needs new writers who actually know what they are doing. And if the wwe push stars like carlito, burke, mvp and kennedy then the wwe fans will have nothing to worry about. Im not saying mvp, kennedy, carlito and burke are ther next rock stone cold or hhh,but if wwe can push these guys right they might be able to get ratings in and gets more viewes than they did 7 years ago. Its a long shot but who knows. WWE are in the media more now so if they can use that to thier advantage then wwe are laughing. I say less of the shit dramatic stroylines and more good promos and wrestling macthes.

It was the characters, storylines, and unique personalities that made the Attitude Era so succesful. I'm sorry to anyone that disagrees, but mainstream wrestling WAS better back then. Nothing was forced down anyones throats. The fans chose who they wanted to lead the company. Actually, one thing very unique was that everyone could agree on who they liked. If you were a straight up mark, or a jaded smart mark, or a casual fan, you could all agree that Stone Cold, or The Rock were great entertainers. That was the difference. Wrestling was SO popular back then, and everyone agreed on just about every level of the product.

I was in elementary school during the attitude era, and EVERY day after a Raw or Smackdown TONS of kids would just talk about the show the night before when they came to school. Of course, we were marks, but it was fun as hell, never knowing what was going to happen next. But it wasn't just young kids, highschoolers, college kids, adults-they all loved the product. That, in my opinion is the difference today. Wrestling isn't as popular, and the characters don't appeal to everyone so there can't be this mass following of people for it. Just IMO.

I honestyl dont even know if it was the characters.....Like Rock,McMahon and Austin were the only really exciting original characters....Guys like Jericho,HHH,Angle,Even Fucking Rikishi...they were not great, new, drawing characters imo....They werent enough to draw and attract people...but they were enough to keep people watching.......Which leads to my next Question....

WHAT ATTRACTED SO MANY FANS?

Like I can see how the characters and storys kept fans watching...but what the hell made so many people tune in for the first time?

The unpredictability attracted me, each week I sat in front of the TV wondering who would show up, and which promotion would be on top. That doesn't exist anymore. There is no legitimate competition, and due to things like the internet, shock value is non-existent.

I'm gonna agree that the wrestling product right now is the best it has been in a long time. A lot of the young guys from the attitude era are grown men now and have learned their craft very well over the years. Take for instance Matt Hardy. This guy has been tearing it down week after week. I mean did you see the Finlay match last Friday? MVP... should I say more? This guy is going to be one of the best one day. Randy Orton has "Triple H of the future" written all over him. John Cena has proven all his critics wrong and, despite the fact that it's true he's had the title way too long, has been having classic matches lately. For example, the hour long Raw match against HBK two weeks after main eventing Wrestlemania.

And my personal favorite...

MR. MCMAHONNNNNNNN..... ahem ahem.... KENNEDYYYYYYYYY!

jk... But Kennedy is one of the most original guys I've seen come out in a while. I can already tell that he's going to have five-star matches in the near future.

WWE by far has the best wrestling today, because TNA has been going to hell with their ridiculous main event and mid card scene scene, and ROH isn't getting the attention it needs.

Excuse me? WWE is the best wrestling today?? With all due respect, are you on crack?

Ok so you said TNA sucks, fine...but what about everyone else? ROH not getting attention? Dude, the'yre an Indy company (well super Indy company) without a TV deal, yet have the most dedicated fans in the world, and put on some of THE BEST wrestling in the world today, and of all time. Not to mention they have outdrawn TNA on numerous occasions.

What about PWG, or IWA Mid South? What about Pro Wrestling NOAH, or NJPW? How about Dragon Gate or Chikara? I'd say all of those put on better wrestling than WWE. Hell what about CMLL and AAA in Mexico those are some of the most popular promotions in the world and they put on better wrestling than WWE.

You either have never watches anything outside of mainstream wrestling, or are really, really, smashed right now. You should really do a little research before you post such absurd comments (and don't give me any BS about "opinions", there are a few exceptions where opinions just don't come into play, and this is one of them).

Well my opinion does come into play. I do find it the most entertaining. The way they've presenting the majority of their product lately has been great. That's just the way I see it.

Well you may find it more enteraining, but to call WWE wrestling "better" than ROH and a lot of other companies just isn't true. There a huge difference. My guess is that you havn't seen too many matches outside WWE and TNA but thats just my estimate.

Okay let me exchange the word "best" for the words "most entertaining to me", kay?

Don't assume I haven't seen much, I know how good ROH is, I buy everything they put out on DVD. But I will admit I haven't seen much of the other promotions stuff, I just don't have all the time I'd like to actually watch all of it.

Okay, you made a typo, thats fine. I just thought you were a noob and just wanted to mention that theres more than 2 promotions out there. I've just never heard anyone say that WWE puts on better wrestling than ROH, thats all.

Gotcha, misunderstanding. ROH hands down has the best in-ring workers in the world. It's just sad that their best end up going to TNA to be wasted. I'm just saying that the feuds going down in WWE right now have me watching and watching hard. I mean... the book for Summerslam is nothing short of drool worthy.

Cept the Khali travesty... but I really don't have to say that.
