Mick Foley ladies and gentleman! He and his family are all crazy.
Lockard is right on this one and Seabs isn't.
Anything can be endured. It's called adrenaline. It's the reason a mother can lift a car that's crushing her child to death.
Adrenaline is also the reason a football player can be hurt and play through intense pain and finish the game.
As for Lockard being a genius, it isn't my place to say. If he's a Myers-Briggs INTP, he might just be.

Not necessarily. Adrenaline prevents us from feeling the pain at all.Not once did I say it can't be endured I simply said it was painful. Which you've then agreed with me on.

If it is a serious enough injury than it may be felt later.
Pouring ice water on your head isn't likely to develop into an injury, so the adrenaline is likely to prevent you from feeling any pain at all.
If one were to take go on a mile run prior to taking the ice bath, that would help as well.
At this point, this challenge these people are just marks for themselves attempting to get publicity.
It would be cooler just to send the money and not bring attention to yourself in the first place.
WhateverAdrenaline doesn't stop you feeling the pain. It changes your reaction to it sure but it still hurts. Seriously go ahead and do it and see if it hurts, I think you'll be surprised.
