pwinsider said:A new promotion, All Wheels Wrestling, which would combine motorcross racing and professional wrestling, will be taping what I assume to be a pilot at the Impact Wrestling Zone in Orlando, Florida (aka Soundstage 21) at Universal Studios.
The official release reads:
All Wheels Wrestling debuts June 29th at Universal Studios
This made for television event will appeal to both wrestling fans and motorsports enthusiasts alike. Come witness the high flying moves of some of the greatest pro wrestlers in the world as they battle it out in the ring in front of a live audience. Doors open at 6:30PM. Taping begins at 7:00PM. Taping held at Universal Studios' Soundstage 21. This is a non-ticketed event and seating is based on a first come first served basis. It is recommended to arrive one hour prior to doors open. Video cameras and audio recording equipment is not allowed. Show may cancel and schedules and/or audience requirements may alter at any time.
How does car racing and wrestling mix? Will they have racing drivers manage the wrestlers and will wrestlers drive the cars?
Also before you ask why this is in the TNA section there is so more news;
pwinsider said:As noted earlier today, a taping for a new project titled "All Wheels Wrestling" will be held later this month at the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida.
The trademark and web domain for the terms "All Wheels Wrestling" are owned by different subsidiaries of TNA, so it would appear this is a new brand the promotion is looking into launching in some form.
The All Wheels Wrestling taping on 6/29 at Universal Studios Florida will be a pilot taping for the Speed Network and a potential series to launch in 2012.
Speed has been looking to do a wrestling-related property for many months. As I noted on my Elite Hotline yesterday, one of the hold-ups during talks earlier in the year would be who would own the property and the show.
TNA is involved with the taping as the have purchased the trademark and the domain name for the property. Hermie Sadler is involved in some capacity as well, helping TNA with material needed for the taping.
One source outside of TNA has told me Jeff Jarrett was involved with the launch of the project, but I haven't been able to 100% confirm that. I do know that some people within the TNA office were surprised when word of the taping came out, as it wasn't something being discussed internally and was pretty much developed "off site" as its own entity.
No word on what talents would be involved or how the concept of the series would merge racing and wrestling.
Doesn't make much sense at the moment but hopefully more news will come to light in the coming weeks before the pilot is taped. I wonder if TNA will be using their wrestlers on the show or if this is something completely seperate?
