Fans will have to wait a little longer to see Alistair Overeem vs. Junior dos Santos.

According to sources close to Overeem, the heavyweight recently suffered an undisclosed injury while training, which will sideline him for four-to-five weeks. As a result, Overeem's camp recently informed the UFC that he will be unable to fight dos Santos at UFC 160 on May 25.

Overeem is hoping to return to action against dos Santos in July, but as of right now, no decision has been made when he'll return and against who. Also, no word just yet on if dos Santos will remain on the UFC 160 card and fight someone else or wait for Overeem return
Hopefully they just push it back the two months mentioned in the article and not scrap that fight altogether.

This fight needs to happen. Hopefully JDS will hold off on fightin and wait til Overeem heals up so we can get this fight and see JDS knock him out.

Mark Hunt saying he's down to replace Overeem if he's asked.

ALL ABOARD THE HUNT TRAIN.

Hopefully Hunt gets derailed if he gets put in this fight so this whole Hunt train hype stuff can stop.

Dana came out on Twitter last night and pretty much said there's no chance of a Hunt/JDS matchup and they're just going to be moving the JDS/Overeem fight to late Summer.

I wouldn't have been against seeing Hunt take on JDS, pretty good short term replacement for Overeem. Sucks that Overeem is injured but hopefully they can just push the fight back a couple of months so that we actually get to see them fight.

Dana knows the JDS/Hunt fight just wouldn't sell.

Wow...the only 2 people in the world who hate Marku Hunto are on WS...

Quoted For Truth!

Give this guy a wrestler and see how much he flounders.

He's been given wrestlers and smashed them, he's been given submission guys, Struve was meant to sub him the very second that the fight hit the deck...and we all saw how that turned out. Hunto was so calm that Struve tried to armbar an arm he didn't have a hold of...have to remember tehre aren't very many good wrestlers at HW, hell Schaub got his ass kicked even though he was on top :lmao

JDS is the perfect top level HW opponent for Hunt. Neither guy has great BJJ (Juniors black belt is a joke), on the feet Hunt has an advantage, tough as nails, more varied strikes and hits harder, and JDS's flaws in his counter game were exposed big time in the second Cain fight, he was clueless once he was no longer the guy pushing the pace. Hunt's demeanor and skills would see him never stepping back from Junior.

The only thing is though if Mark beat JDS the next logical step would be Cain and I dont fancy Marks chances agaisnt that level of wrestler.

If consider Chris Tuchshererererer a good wrestler. What about Barnett? He has two good wins on his resume, when they arren't people outside of his weight class. Mark Hunt is not championship material, like the UFC needs more freakshow fights, they are doing far too much already. This guy couldn't even beat a middlewieght Melvin Manhoef.

Yeah he lost to Manhoef when he was fat and unmotivated, Marks gone on record saying that period where he was losing to top guys killed off his excitment for the sport and he was just cashing checks.

He's never taken MMA seriously until now, he didn't even really start training for MMA until a couple of years ago, before that he was always just a kickboxer.

I dont see how a HW who's fighting his way up the rankings fighting a top HW is a freakshow fight? Brock Lesnar was a freakshow fighter. Is it because Hunts a kickboxer who turned MMA fighter, that makes it a freakshow?

Getting hot shotted a title shot does not a freakshow make......But getting big name fights off a twitter campaign is. Especially for a guy on the wrong side of 30.

Pretty obvious ZUFFA is on a young man kick right now, can't go against that, because a few people on Twitter seem to have a Rocky boner for Mark Hunt, ain't nobody got time for dat.

Well then people should start beating him, just because there's alot of support for him doesn't mean he shouldn't get the shot if he earns it. As for the JDS fight, JDS-Reem will sell better but JDS-Hunt will be a better fight. Reem has no chin and gasses easy, while Hunt has concrete for a chin and can still break a giants jaw when he's gassed.

Or we can do the alternative and keep giving Frank Mir big fights and let him get toyed with for a round and a half like what happened last time there was a Mark Hunt campaign...
