Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported on the F4WOnline forum that TNA was trying to get Alberto Del Rio's number 90 minutes ago.

"Next TNA champion is not a joke. Dead serious." said Meltzer.

A couple of theories there, apparently a few words and a slap, caused by either a racist guy or Del Rio being a numpty. Either way, WWE has lost a great wrestler today.

I found out about it through the youtube comments on WWE's page. Was very confused as it looked like they were about to push him.

Yeah, Del Rio is too skilled to be held back. He's basically a latino Randy Orton, with a better athletic pedigree.

But yeah, surely that TNA story is bullshit. The guy is 37, despite being a good wrestler, I'm sure he'd rather go to Mexico and be a star there and TNA don't need to be paying him for probably only a few more years of service, rather get someone younger in because we already have the big ECDub reunion in NYC right now.
