Beadle is such a huge wrestling mark a work is the only thing that makes sense. Someone working within WWE 'leaks' this story to Metzer who eats it up like the mark he is and he puts out a report on it to add validity to the angle.

But then again, it seems odd that they'd jump start an angle on a Tribute To The Troops show, but then what other opportunity/excuse would they have for having a real newscaster backstage with the company? It does make sense that they'd reach out for some type of mainstream publicity for Mania, just like they did with the Maria-Whoever person who wrestled on the Wrestlemania 28 card.
