The story is akin to the old WWE games as well, it's mostly the same story but you can pick any wrestler or CAW to play through it with paths that can differ so to play all the stories you'd have to do multiple plays.

I'd say it's worth it for $10 but it really depends on what you want, it's a blast to just pick up and play with friends but it's severely lacking in game modes and creation suites. I quit playing before they added things like Stadium Stampede as well so not sure how that helps the replay value

Ah okay thank you. I was hoping they’d have a story mode specifically made for at least a few of the big names. I’ll still probably check it out.

If you ever played WWF No Mercy on N64 the story mode is very similar to that formula. different branches depending on if you win/lose and some choices you make.

10 dollars is probably about the limit of where I say it’s worth it. Much more than that I would suggest saving your money.

Actually I'd argue it'd be better then just for playing more with friends lol but solo most definitely. It just wasn't a game for this era at all, the lack of the creation suite probably being the worst offender even if I didn't actually care that much myself. That's literally half the 2K player base though

Stadium Stampede really looked promising even if all the non fortnite battle royals keep dying but it took too long to come out bc I already quit playing and then I never heard anything so I don't know if it was anything special

I played it for the first time just the other day. I can see the appeal, though from what I could see, it really didn't make up for the shortcomings elsewhere in the game, and I definitely couldn't see myself dedicating much time to it.

Yeah I would second this, and those are the games I like nowadays bc I don't wanna fully focus. Gotta play on easy or something tho bc they throw too many handicaps at you in career for harder difficulties lmao

EXCLUSIVE: AEW "Strongly Considering" New Partner For Future Video Games

After development struggles, going over budget, and conflicts, AEW is considering looking for a new developer for future video games.

The future of AEW video games currently hangs in the balance.

Multiple sources have told me that the decision makers at AEW are “strongly considering” finding a new development partner moving forward. This comes after numerous issues surrounding the game’s development.

“They [AEW] knows that things didn’t go the way they expected,” one source said. “The game was over-budget and it under delivered when it came out. It has AEW strongly considering moving to a new developer for their games.”

AEW Fight Forever launched in June 2023 to mixed response. While the gameplay was fun and easy to pick up, the lack of depth and various bugs was a turnoff for many players. In April 2024, Insider Gaming was told that there was pressure on the developers to “deliver something faster than what it should’ve been”.

Now, AEW is trying to figure out where to go with their games. The original contract with Yuke’s called for one year of post launch updates which came in the form of four season passes that added wrestlers, moves, game modes, and venues. The last DLC pack game out in July, adding Jay White to the roster. There have been talks for releasing recently signed wrestlers Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Mone to the game’s roster, but it’s unclear where those talks between AEW and Yuke’s stand.

The sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity say that the primary focus is around the gaming future as a whole.

“Everything is on the table,” Insider Gaming was told. “There were some positives with the Yuke’s relationship, and some feel that with a foundation in place, another game could make things better rather than giving up after one attempt. But you can’t argue that there are concerns with how things went in the final year of the game’s development.”
