that is certainly an issue they had ( i think theyve MOSTLY fixed that with packages for newer peeps) but its def a thing they struggled with

Even as a hardcore fans' promotion, you get the feeling that a lot of the people there are trading on prior successes

and to piggyback off that, I think some of their angle developments (or lacktherof) sometimes rely too much on exactly that ''oh well x and x have history so it makes sense''

which is fine once in a while but I think they are sometimes too afraid to beat ppl over the head with the WHY and while it can be a bit much on the other side, i think in aew they dont do it all and it leads to a lot of ppl being confused or un invested

A micro subset of people watching actually know the history between Blorbo Punchmaster and Bingus Kickguy so why exclusively play off that?

i think its fine in legacy matchups with legends involved but I agree , does not really work with midcarders

They've had to build him up on AEW TV in real time, and so they did, and it's paid off

yeah Hologram has been a success, I am invested and thought nothing of him first. That's a testament of good booking

Where are the Acclaimeds? The Luchasauruses? Hell, even the lame stuff like the Librarians was new and it worked to an extent

I guess that kind of goes back to one of my earlier points about dynamite used to feel cant miss and anything can happen
