Same thing when people talk about Russo. He wouldn’t have even been there if Nash and Sullivan hadn’t cratered interest. I think Nitro by September was hovering around 2.5-2.9. Russo actually elevated the rating on average a little, but week to week not much, but certainly didn’t lower it.

I think the main thing is Russo in WCW while creating car wrecks at least was entertaining in its craziness. The worst thing you can do is be boring. WCW in mid 1999 was like watching paint dry.

Of course, Don wants to deliver the final blow himself. Hobbs has already taken the steps needed to get the heat on himself so now you give Callis the final blow because his character is an egomaniac and it’s only gonna make fans hate him and Hobbs by proxy all the more and you gotta love how Kenny is willing to do the absolute most to put his angle and his opponent over.
