Wouldn’t surprise me if they did trademark ambulance match but I always wondered exactly how that works because I remember WCW eventually just calling their last standing match last me standing match when Russo came in but I thought the reason why they never used that phrase was because it was trademarked.

I think it's one of those things where WWE says we own it but if you really care enough to say "you can't tho" they'll cave bc they won't win lol but most don't care. The exception would probably be really branded things like HIAC or TLC

Oh, I feel that too. There’s very few ambulances matches I really point to as good matches. I will accept them if it’s good for the story just because I do like variety in my wrestling, but it’s 100% better than the stretcher match for sure.

AEW also just calls things different names sometimes for random reasons like they say coffin instead of casket match bc most early ones were Darby and he does the coffin drop not the casket drop

Yeah, that was my thinking too was like if there’s like an actual structure attached to it then it’s different which is why no companies ever done an elimination chamber, for example.

I will say I think branding is really important if you can come up with an alternative that sounds as good and works for your branding. That’s preferable just so not everyone says the same things.

yeah idk that's what we're wondering too, bc some def can't be bc like other companies use the WWE names regularly so I think it's just a branding decision, but others probably are tm
