Honestly while some occasions stuff gets dropped w out payoffs, recently a lot of the feuds bleed into the next few feuds and its a effort I've come to appreciate as of late. A lot less matches feel "inconsequential " . But I'm going on a tangent.

Jeff what do you think about AEW copying the custom sideplates from WWE?

I personally don’t mind it too much since they’re smaller and you still have the full regular plates but it’s just still interesting that they would go there.

I think it's fine now that it's been 5 years n lots of champs. I wouldn't have minded no customization at all.either tho. I'm a big purist in that way. I.domt love redesigns unless there's a name change

Even with erasing hindsight and being a punk fan, I think it would’ve made far more sense to put the belt on Danielson first because the money in Danielson defending against CM punk would’ve been tremendous baring brawl out never happening and Danielson and Hanger would have had a memorable title change.

Pretty close to my thoughts too. I’m not a big fan of redesigning something that’s already perfect. My biggest problem isn’t necessarily that it’s got the custom plate. It’s that they had to move the logo from the center that matched the main plate logo and now they have them above and below the custom plate so they don’t lineup anymore with the center plate logo.

Agreed. Punk elevated anything that he was in so he didn’t need the belt right away and you had one of the best pure wrestlers on the planet come out of retirement and jump ship you put the belt on that guy. Danielson as a heel was also so great so it would’ve been great to see him shine in that light in AEW. Plus hangers downward decent would’ve been glorious and when you remove the drama like you said before his rise back up, would’ve been a lot quicker than when we got in real time and it would’ve actually elevated him when he got back up there.

And then like we’re both saying if they had given a time and a proper build Danielson defending the belt on pay-per-view against CM punk I think would’ve done AEW‘s Best Buy rate ever.

Especially specially since after hangers crash out, Danielson would’ve been their top heel and then you still have the most over babyface AEW would’ve had at that time in punk boom you’re talking, absolute money being printed.
