I'd argue it started with Rock, Angle, Austin matches, but saved for PPVs and then Cena became super Cena and did it with every match in his career. Then everyone in wrestling did it.

I believe their should be two finishes, they cycle through, that finish matches. But when someone kicks out of one, they use the other, and if they kick out of both, they have a super finish that is never kicked out of.
