If he went back, a special attraction role would be best. For both his health and his appeal. No tv matches, 20-35 tv appearances, 3-6 marquee matches at the biggest shows. Would probably only do 2 years and then have a big retirement match at Mania.

like I said above, they don't really have to if they bring him in for a mania one off. I certainly agree it could cause locker room issues on a longer basis or even in the short term but I think if WWE see a match that will make money they have shown time and time again they will put that stuff aside. Remains to be seen with Paul but it's not like he's been above making money before. Remember Patrick Clark?

If Punk stayed around for 2 years and there wasn’t any issues, I don’t see why they wouldn’t give him the main event if he was retiring at their biggest show and if it was indeed Austin, zero way it doesn’t end the show.

I've never expected a buyout. The entire time they're going to ride it out until he's recouped and see where temps are at that point. Even then I don't think it's likely they'll part ways

Idk he's been doing it for years tho lol always heard he was good and he was great at permanent commentary when ROH and WWE used him at it while injured so made sense to me even if it was a real sport (and one he sucked at)
