Ah, the dull and boring press conference; such was always the case whenever he joined a new organization. After his long time in XWE, running it, and wrestling in it, people thought that after the company had gone bankrupt, he’d be done with wrestling for a good long while. It had been nearly three years since the fall of his most beloved company. He had made many friends there, some of which he was glad to be in contact with. Also glad that some of them had made a move over to another company, a company known was Powerslam Wrestling Alliance. He was glad to know that they were successful there until it’s untimely downfall also. It was always so sad to see a good company that could have gone places fall like that. It was on the cusp of something great. He was suddenly snapped back to reality, not only with the flash of a camera, but also with a reporter for some internet dirtsheet asking him a question. A question he had grown so used to over the years that he had chosen an answer for it, but this time was different, it had been about five years since he’d actually wrestled, he was sure to be rusty. Nicky had to ask the reporter to repeat himself, which the man seemed more than happy to ask again.
Reporter: “How do you feel about going into a new organization after such a long hiatus from wrestling?â€
Nicky had to take a moment to think about that question this time; it felt weird being at one of these things again. He didn’t know what to truly say, he hadn’t wrestled in such a long time. But he knew he could make things happen in this company. But being the shorter guy, and not as muscular guy, people thought he had a disadvantage. Looking at some of the talent on the roster, he was a little nervous himself, but he knew that given his speed and agility, he could outmaneuver most of them. But one good hit from one of them, and it could be all over. He’d have to keep on his toes, but now, onto the question.
Nicky Trix: “I honestly feel pretty good about this, like you said; I have been out of the ring for a long time. I haven’t been wrestling that long, but due to an injury; I had to stop before I reached my prime. So for the rest of my tenure with XWE, I was the manager, after my team beating the current GM at the time’s team. I have been in this business for roughly seven years, and a majority of that was spent behind a desk. As for joining this company. You never know where I’ll go. Being the small guy on the roster, people will say the odds are stacked against me. I’m just happy to be back in the ring.â€
Nicky said with the biggest smile on his face. He never had a reason to be upset, or to really not smile. And he was always sincere with these kinds of things. He looked around the room, it was a small room. Just big enough for possibly two hundred people. Which was never much for something like this. He really only expected a handful of people at this thing. He didn’t think he was that big of a draw at all, but the room was filled with smiling faces. He enjoyed that, especially when a fan started a
“NI-CKY!†chant. This filled
Nicky’s heart with joy. The room was so plain though, which was expected, after all, this wasn’t a big time WWE star or anything. Suddenly a reporter raised his hand to get
Nicky’s attention.
Nicky looked at the man and nodded to him with a polite nod, and a smile.
Reporter: “You start with ACW tomorrow, and your debut match is against Henry Calvish, a much larger man than yourself. What are your thoughts on this match?â€
Nicky actually wasn’t sure what to say, he didn’t want to say anything rude about his opponent, considering he didn’t know the man. He didn’t want to just say he was going to win, because he was honestly unsure of the outcome of the match. It was anybodies ball game. He looked back up after looking down for a bit, and after some thinking, finally answered.
Nicky Trix: “As confident as I am with my skills, I honestly don’t know what to say about this match. I watched Henry last week in his triple threat match. I was quite impressed, happy even. Knowing my first match, my debut match, was going to be against this man. I knew I was going to be challenged. And that’s what I really wanted. I didn’t want to face just some local; I wanted someone exactly like this. I feel as though if I don’t push myself every match, I have not given the fans they paid for. And that’s what it comes down to, the fans. They paid to be here, to watch me put on a good show, I’m going to give them what they want. I have all the faith that Calvish will do everything in his power to make sure I don’t win, especially considering he just lost his debut match. He’ll want some kind of redemption for it. I’ll be there, ready for him.â€
The crowd of people in the room seemed to truly enjoy that. One man decided he wanted to be louder than the rest of the people and stood up on his chair and just started to chant. After a couple minutes of verbal spats, security finally got the man out of the room.
Nicky wasn’t sure to think of this. He didn’t think his fanbase was this dedicated. He suddenly remembered he was at a press conference and looked for the final question, as he was only slotted for thirty minutes, and it had been close to that time. He pointed towards a reporter, and the man stood up. The words that came out of his mouth made Nicky truly smile.
Reporter: “Do you have any words for the fans, the roster and management of ACW?â€
Nicky Trix: “I have one thing to say. I just landed!â€
The crowd really liked that; it was short and to the point. And that’s what he was aiming for. Hopefully it won’t become his new catchphrase. He stood up, as did the rest of the crowd, but they were also clapping and cheering and all that stuff a fun crowd would do.
Nicky thanked them for showing up, and he hoped to see them around some time. As he left, the sound of the crowd electrified him. He was certainly ready for his match tomorrow.
OOC: This is just an intro kind of thing, I haven't used this character in a while, so I'm a bit rusty. Bear with me.
