yeh I think Edge was coming over regardless, ppl in WWE and AEW were whispering he was going to AEW in June or July1000%. I still think he wouldn’t of even made the jump without it but he had it would definitely not feel like it was him if I had a call just Adam Copeland, and he couldn’t do the thing that made him one of the biggest stars of all time I’ll be like what is this? Why would you want to do this
I think there was always a chance he would stay but yea, internally it sounds like WWE knew he was leaving and really werent willing to do much about it. In his latest interview he says he wanted to wrestle more but WWE wanted him to be a part time attraction, and that by the end of it, they were both struggling to come up with creative for him.Judging by his video when his contract came to an end, I think it was always an option he was leaning towards, but he definitely thought it through to the very end. He didn’t necessarily want to leave WWE, but as he said himself he felt he outgrew it and his daughters also wanted to see him with uncle Christian again so he made the leap of faith.
yeah that is the one thing that was really weird. Legend status guy says he wants to work more and do more things and they just like nah? why? It’s really weird too because the part-time thing was originally some thing that they made an exemption for because Brock Lesnar didn’t want to do a full-time schedule but it seems to be now WWE want to try to push that on people when not every wrestler wants to take large breaks some people actually like working full-time. And I don’t know why WWE would ever turn down having edge on the road every week. It’s really weird. I mean I get Edge is a really big superstar but I don’t think he’s the same type of marketable situation as a Brock Lesnar. He’s not like a monster that just blows in town and disappears. He’s the guy that likes the wrestle. Utilize him guys.
If there’s one person I might’ve liked more than edge in the PG era it was Randy Orton don’t tease me.If Randy took himself off tv due to injury does that mean he's next to jump?
I mean he did have talks with AEW before afaik, just ended up leveraging it for a better raise in WWE. So I would never say never. I genuinely feel Cena is the only guy who will never leave. If there’s one person I might’ve liked more than edge in the PG era it was Randy Orton don’t tease me.
