Johnny Nitro won the vacant ECW title by defeating CM Punk on June 24th 2007 at Vengeance: Night of Champions. He changed his name to John Morrison on the July 17th 2007 ECW. He lost the title to CM Punk on the September 4th 2007 ECW.

Taz

Taz won the ECW title from Shane Douglas on January 10th 1999 at Guilty as Charged. He lost the title to Mike Awesome in a three way dance also involving Masato Tanaka on September 19th 1999 at Anarchy Rulz. He won it back on the April 13th 2000 ECW. He lost the title to Tommy Dreamer on April 22nd 2000 at Cyberslam.

Yeah I liked Morrison/Punk but Taz did much more during his time on top of ECW.

Taz all the way. That guy was an ass-kicking machine. Definitely what a champion should be. WWE wasted his potential.

I won't claim to be the biggest Taz fan, but certainly during his ECW run he had something special about him and as JR would say wrestled a unique style.
