Only confirmed match up this year is John Cena defending the WWE Championship against Batista in a Last Man Standing Match.

Still can't believe they got rid of Backlash.

The idea to get rid of Backlash was terrible.

Still, should be a good match with Cena retaining.

Backlash made perfect sense as a follow up to Wrestlemania. That, in and of itself, is a concept ppv. Backlash had a nice little history going in its 10th year. Too bad.

I liked the name Backlash honestly. It was the perfect post Wrestlemania PPV, Wrestlemania rematches or ending of feuds. Backlash was the perfect name.

All good things must come to an end I guess. Backlash was the shit though.

It seems like there's been so many last man standing matches in recent memory but I guess Cena and Batista is new I just wish they could come up with some new concepts, but idk what they could even come up with any more especally without the blood and chair shots and stuff. I hope Batista wins but with rumors of him taking time off who knows anymore.

Some other matches I am predicting are Swagger Jericho Edge triple threat rules for the title. Sheamus vs HHH in a weapon on a pole match. Punk vs Mysterio in street fight or ladder match. Hmm idk what else

Backlash was almost always awesome. '03 was one of my favorites ever. (Not just 'cause Team Angle was on the poster. >_>)

I figure Cena/Batista, WHC Triple Threat, Punk/Mysterio, and Sheamus/Trips and an NXT thing are locks. I'm hoping Shelton/Hardy/Christian can find their way onto the show doing something, however unlikely that may be.

Yeah, I would love to see some mid card title matches, Drew vs Hardy vs Shelton vs Kane seems like the most likely IC match but I don't know if Shelton could get in it, it seems like Hardy and Kane are locks though because of the expunged matches and they seemed to take it quite badly. I think Christian vs Miz might be a cool US match but there isn't any build up there as of yet, maybe Christian vs Ted for the Million $ title and ShowMiz vs Hart Dynasty for tag titles. The rest of the matches are complete locks with Cena vs Batista already anounced and Swagger vs Edge vs Jericho hinted too much for it not to happen, Sheamus vs HHH has pretty much already been confirmed and Rey vs Punk will surely be the best match of the night, I hope that it is longer than their WM match. I want Backlash back though!

I want to see Hart Dynasty vs Shomiz for the Unified Tag Team Championship in a...wait for it... Submission Match. Putting them in that match would finally solidify their spot in the WWE, as they already get a good reaction since they're Harts. WWE has two WAYYY over fairly new superstars who should have had bigger pushes sooner.

I am pretty sure the Harts will get the shot at the PPV. They still got one more Raw to make it happen. Bret isn't going to proclaim Big Mizness as "the greatest tag team ever" and some other shit will happen and they announce the match. Harts get the belts at the PPV. If WWE doesn't give them the belts then, I don't see them getting them at all.

At least with Extreme Rules, they don't have to stretch out boring WM feuds for 2-3 months before the gimmick blow-off match.

I would like to see a US Title match at ER (as that title seems to be forgotten about) but I can't see it happening, what with no build up for the title since I don't know when and the build up for the Tag Titles going well.

WWE just added Edge vs. Jericho in a steel cage at Extreme Rules.

I really don't see the Edge vs. Jericho feud going anywhere really. Ever since Swagger took the belt both men have really focused off of each other and just want the gold. Their feud leading into Mania was pretty weak as well. They have one more SmackDown to really make something out of this to really build that cage match because as of right now that is one random match up.

Here are my predictions so far...

WHC: Extreme Rules Match Orton vs. Swagger

WWE Championship: Last Man Standing Cena vs. Batista

Cage Match Edge vs. Jericho

Punk vs. Rey (Rey has nothing on the line so I assume he will lose, really throw everyone for a loop. Plus Rey won at Mania, no way Punk is losing two straight)

Street Fight Triple H vs. Sheamus

And just wtf is the difference between an Extreme Rules match and a Street fight? They didn't want to have two of the same stips on the PPV so they just use two different names.

I assume that the Edge/Jericho match will be anounced on Smackdown in one of those really anoying bits where they think that nobody has a computer and can see that it has been anounced. Here are my predictions anywho:

Punk vs Rey (ditto to what xba said really, why is this not a gimmick match?)

Sheamus vs Trips (I'd like to see Sheamus win but I highly doubt that would happen)

Edge vs Jericho (just to even the scoreline out)

Orton vs Swagger (I think the only reason Swagger had to defend this Friday was to make him look credible, not losing on his first defence)

Batista vs Cena (I think this could bring closure to this feud)

There are also two locks for Extreme Rules (Triple threat for the IC and ShowMiz/Hart Dynasty) which I think Matt Hardy and Hart Dynasty will win respectively.
