Rection won the US title from Lance Storm in a handicap match also involving Jim Duggan on October 29th 2000 at Halloween Havoc. He lost the title back to Storm on the November 13th 2000 Nitro. He won the title back from Storm on November 26th 2000 at Mayhem. He lost the title to Shane Douglas in a First Blood Chain Match on January 14th 2001 at Sin.

Sid Vicious

Vicious won the US title from Chris Benoit on September 12th 1999 at Fall Brawl. He lost the title to Goldberg on October 24th 1999 at Halloween Havoc.

I went with Vicious because it actually helped him get somewhere whereas General Reaction was just a midcarder.

I don't agree that Vicious' title reign helped build him for the main event at the time WCW just decided to push him as a monster again, because they were running out of fresh names, and his reign of terror just happened to include winning the US Title, I don't think there was much thought put into it at all.

I think there was. He had just returned to the company and needed some kind of momentum before being thrown into the main event, The US title reign accomplished that. Sid moves on.
