Piper won the US title on January 27th 1981 from Ric Flair in Raleigh, North Carolina. He lost the title to Wahoo McDaniel on August 8th 1981 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He won his 2nd US title on April 16th 1983 from Greg Valentine in Greensboro. He won his 3rd US title on the February 8th 1999 Nitro from Bret Hart. He lost the title to Scott Hall on February 21st 1999 at SuperBrawl IX.
