2011 Game awards

I doubt there is many gamers here but with how big a year it was last year I'm sure you have all played a few titles. So, I'll make this simple. Vote in all categories or if there is any categories you don't feel you are inclined to be able to choose anything, skip it but if say for example you didn't get any fighting games last year but you prefer Mortal Kombat over Marvel Vs Capcom, pick that. Doesn't really matter, just vote for whatever.

But anyways here's my picks and all the categories I can think of:


Best Graphics: Uncharted 3
Best Story: Batman Arkham City
Best Sports Game: Fight Night Champions
Best Driving Game: Forza Motorsport 4
Best 3rd Person Shooter: Uncharted 3
Best Platformer: LittleBigPlanet 2
Best Action Adventure Game: Batman Arkham City
Best Shooter: Resistance 3
Best Sandbox/Open world game: Infamous 2
Best Role Playing Game: Skyrim
Best Multiplayer: Battlefield 3
Best Handheld Game: Pokemon Black/White
Best PS3 Game: Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception
Best XBox 360 game: Gears of War 3
Best PC Game: Witcher 2
Best Wii Game: The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
Biggest Disappointment: Dead Island/Killzone 3
Game of The Year: Batman Arkham City

I feel I should touch on a few games. If Arkham City had multiplayer co-op or had some campaign missions with Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl or someone, really just more replay value and if it didn't have any issues with the combat because of the camera angles, it definitely would be my game of the year. Same deal with Uncharted 3 for replay value and content, it's an epic game but I'd say Among Thieves has a better campaign and it's a little on the shorter side. Haven't played the multiplayer yet but I've heard it's great, as for as I know though co-op is the same deal, just a bunch of random co-op missions.

Also, if Resistance 3 had great multiplayer it would have easily been my game of the year. I've only played some of Gears 3 but really with all the epic games and games that actually have story value I doubt it would be a game of the year contender for me.

Lastly, I'd like to say Portal 2 though I respect it winning Game of The Year and best multiplayer from IGN is the dumbest shit I've ever seen. Portal 2 is just a fun thinking game and it has strictly co-op not multiplayer. Multiplayer is deathmatch shit, co-op is playing with people. Big difference.

I'll take NBA 2K12 as Sports game of the year. That's thE stiffest competition of all your categories because Champion and Fifa 11 are the definitive games for their sports as well. Such an awesome year for sports games.

On second thought, fuck Skyrim. Arkham City deserves game of the year over Skyrim hundreds fold. Besides some camera issues during combat that's the only problem in Arkham City. Fucking Skyrim is fucked up on consoles(especially PS3). Save files that get larger and larger, fucked up A.I.(such as dragons flying around not instigating a battle and enemies stop going after you after a certain point). That latter happens all the time. Then there is bugs from everything such as guards arresting you for nothing(I brought over an enemy to a location with NPC's around but I only fought the enemy to game effecting bugs like not being able to obtain certain followers because their fucking dialogue doesn't show up.

Bethesda is so fucking lazy. This game sold millions and keeps selling strongly yet these lazy douchebags still have yet to fix all of the problems.

Akrham City is equal on all platforms and has no issues. Arkham City>Skyrim until/if ever Bethesda ever fixes it.

Save files that get larger and larger

Been occuring since Morrowind on the XBox. It got to the point where you were literally saving every 5 minutes because it could crash at any time and leave you fucked.

Oblivion runs great though. I haven't seen anything to be negative about besides the big problem in Elder Scrolls where somehow guards know when you're stealing in town but that's not a bug.
