I did hear somewhere that Williams was trying to get out of Jersey but can't recall where I heard it.

Killswitch where did you hear the Dwight didnt want to get traded? From what I've seen he still wants to be traded, but just doesnt think it will happen before the deadline.

So now it sounds like Dwight Howard is backing off his trade demands after seeing how bad the Nets can be and how the Lakers and Mavs really couldn't add him and sign him to a max deal without trading away everyone else. The new plan would be for the Magic to re-sign Howard and then acquire Daron Williams for Jameer Nelson & other pieces.
Don't spread BS man, especially from a blog written Saturday which was an implied suggestion to keep Dwight in Orlando, which was get Deron

This is the real news:

Orlando Sentinel
11:53 p.m. EST, January 8, 2012

SACRAMENTO — Dwight Howard's request to be traded still stands, and the Orlando Magic's general manager doesn't feel the team has done much to change the superstar's mind.

"Nothing has changed," Howard said before the Magic faced the Sacramento Kings at Power Balance Pavilion on Sunday.

Otis Smith confirmed Howard has not taken his trade request off the table and that Howard's agent still has permission to speak with three, and only three, teams: the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Jersey Nets.

"I think his leaving or going has nothing to do with Orlando," Smith said of Howard. "I think he wants a bigger market. I can't do anything about that."

Howard revealed he has spoken with some NBA players, including Carmelo Anthony, to see how they've dealt with similar situations.

"I've talked to 'Melo," Howard said. "I've talked to a lot of guys.

"It's the same thing: You have to do what's best for you, regardless of what anybody else says. It's your life and you have to live it your way. You can't do it how everybody wants you to do it or be afraid or be upset about what people are saying, because they're not the ones that have to go through it. Sometimes, you've got to make tough decisions, and you've got to always take care of you and your family first, because nobody else will."

So apparently a rumor has came up not sure how true about the Knicks wanting Howard to the point where they'd deal Amare as the main piece. Kind of weird considering they just got him last year as their main guy until Melo came.

...why would either team do this? I know Orlando wants veterans, but an uninsured $80M contract on those knees? And the Knicks aren't on the list of teams Dwight would sign with, though I guess that's because he didn't think he could get there.

The common belief is that USA Basketball will announce a preliminary 18-man roster for the 2012 Olympics later this month. But that belief is flawed. It is more likely the number will be 19, and it will include LaMarcus Aldridge. SheridanHoops.com learned Tuesday that Aldridge is on the verge of being added to the national team roster that will be submitted to FIBA later in January.

Recent....

Now we’re reporting something even better: The entire 19-man roster. Here it is, alphabetically, from my impeccable international basketball sources: LaMarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Chris Bosh, Kobe Bryant, Tyson Chandler, Kevin Durant, Eric Gordon, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, Andre Iguodala, LeBron James, Kevin Love, Lamar Odom, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams.

Thoughts on this?

I don't get it at all from Orlando's standpoint either. If you trade Dwight you do it to fill the team with talent to rebuild and Amare is someone you add to win now and have pieces around him. If I'm the Knicks and Dwight says I'll resign with you I do it because Dwight is easily the better player. However at the same time it confuses me because like I said you paid all this money for Amare to make him one of the faces of your team and now all of a sudden he is a trade piece.

Orlando doesn't want to rebuild though, that's the thing. They want to trade Dwight and Hedo for solidified veterans, because the owner is a smurf and wants to see the team be competitive before he dies.

If this is the main deal they're considering then yeah that much is obvious. Don't really get it since you'd be in no better position than you are in now if you do that trade. If anything could be worse since Dwight's defense would be gone and would be Amare's first time in idk how long playing in a system that wasn't a run up and down offensive system.

Could bring some balance to the team and give other guys more opportunities, which wouldn't hurt. I'd do Amar'e, Chandler & Shumpert for Dwight, Hedo & Duhon

I didn't check the salaries on that, though. Doubt it works.

Howard 17.9
Turk 10.6
Duhon 3.46 (what the fuck?)
32M

Amare 18.2
Chandler 13.1
Shumpert 1.6
32.9M

That'll do. New York shouldn't do that though, not without assurance of an extension and some idea of what to do at PG (since they should have to throw in any good draft picks they have left).

Phoenix owned Portland, and Portland owned L.A so in theory Phoenix should beat L.A tonight

Tyson has to agree to be deal this year doesn't he since he was traded with his bird rights to NY anyhow? \
I know Hump has to agree to any deal with him in it for example, in Jersey.

Lakers will be without their backup SG, PF, and C tonight as Kapono (twins being born), McBob (turf toe), and Murphy (stomach flu) are all out. So Kobe, Pau, and Andrew will play a lot or Ron will get over 10 minutes for the first time the past 3 games and Luke will play.

I'm kind of starting to believe everyone is ignoring the news I posted above ^^ or they are commenting on it in a really weird way.
