    I'm friends with several musicians and trust me, more people buy shirts than you think. Even a small, local Toronto band can do quite well with shirt sales. Hell, one band I know makes a ton of dough off buttons alone, never mind the shirts.

That's actually another argument AGAINST anti-piracy laws, the sales of many artists have been proven to be boosted due to people being able to check them out for free before buying.     It depends on if they profit off the CD or not, but as I say, most don't make that much from the CD sale itself.
