listening to lots of We Came As Romans, Broadway, Attack Attack and Blessthefall lately. BMTH is good too, just for the cut up disc. and if you like pop stuff in the vein of Boys Like Girls and Cute Is What We Aim For - Sing It Loud, Powerspace, Aloha From Hell and The Summer Set are good.

John Frusciante quit the Chili Peppers last week. The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold died. Not as big a fan of them as I was 4-5 years ago, but that's tragic. and this year's been disappointing in general, so yeah.

anybody seen KISS live? I know someone that went to the MSG show last week, said it was the best concert he's ever been to. heard the Boys Like Girls + Taylor Swift song on the radio after my test. I thought it was the Jonas Brothers. It should've been the Jonas Brothers.

lol, Daughtry is that kind of radio rock I don't like at all. it's great he has a real career, but I could care less. I love pop radio. those songs are supposed to get stuck in your head, no big deal. Party In The USA has been playing nonstop for the past month in my head, it's ridiculous...

yeah, I pretty much despise all those bands you listed. BB is OK, but they get boring easy. most of the bands singers try to sound more like Eddie Vedder, but all the music is interchangeable. do you mean Motion City Soundtrack? that festival sounds like Super Warped Tour or Australian...

so I've listened to a little bit of Lovehatehero lately. They're pretty good, like pop-hardcore. and I dl'ed the Fall of Troy's and HORSE The Band's new ones too. anyone like these guys?

I always go with pop/melody over heavyness, whether it's punk, metal or German techno. most of the "OMG Dropped C!" hardcore tuning is so lame. and the bands try to be badass so hard, it's almost to the point how some white rappers are.

I say Southern Rock for anything that sounds like Tool and I don't like. IDK why, but anything that's rougher and louder is "southern" to me. that's bands like 10 years, Tool, Staind and sometimes Breaking Benjamin are like that for me. HORSE The Band and Fall of Troy drop new ones next week...

I haven't listened to BLG yet, but I'll probably stay in 2006 mode by listening to 5 Minutes to Midnight and Thunder instead of their new one. Taking Back Sunday has a special spot in my heart because they're from Long Island (which is huge) and they started everything for me. New Again was...

all of it sounds the same. even with other bands you can't really differentiate other than Howard's vocals. wow, I think my favorite albums from this year were... Meg & Dia Jimmy Brooks/Drake Kid Cudi Silverstein Green Day (I know. shoot me.) Pearl Jam Devil Wears Prada just dl'ed...

is it me, or haven't there been a whole lot of albums from this year that were disappointing? The Sleeping - What it Takes (eh.) Lacuna Coil A Day To Remember (other than a couple of tracks, it was average) Aiden (the worst thing I've heard all year.) Rancid Killswitch Engage The Used...

Fuse is just as bad as MTV now, freaking Topanga from Boy Meets World hosts one of the video shows. They've changed so much in the past year or so, I hate it. But when I asked the question, I meant in general, a band you liked a while back blows up months later like on the radio...
  13. Official Rock & Metal Discussion Thread

Hey Monday was on MTV. I was right. Does that happen to anyone else here? How some band you've liked for a really long time just blows up months/a year later? For me, that's happened so many times. New Aiden album comes out next week, I'm excited for that. And this band/girl group is really...

anyone listen to A Day To Remember's newest album yet? I like it way more than their previous stuff. Their mix of hardcore and melody is why I like this one. http://www.myspace.com/adaytoremember

I don't like the Static Lullaby cover that much. But Silverstein's Apologize is fucking amazing. Silverstein - Apologize http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ok0tebtFKHU&feature=related Attack Attack - I kissed a girl (eh) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvWs3kglJag&feature=channel_page August Burns...

I only listen to the radio in the car, and I don't listen to the rock stations at all, there's tons of good music, but lots of shitty stuff too. (like Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Hinder, Saving Abel) So I usually stick to pop radio and listen to the indy stuff with the iPod. and even Fuse...

With alot of the music I listen to, I'm usually the first to discover it with my peeps. And about a couple of months or a year later, they start showing up on MTV, and get played on the radio. Like "Hey There Delilah" and how me and this girl used it back in 05, and everyone starts listening to...
  18. Official Rock & Metal Discussion Thread

I listened to the Hey Monday's "Hold on Tight" twice the past couple of days, and it's pretty good. The music isn't that revolutionary, there's lots of bands that have that sound. They're more pop than rock, IMO, but it's cool. It's Cassadee's voice (and extreme cuteness) that carries the whole...

It doesn't matter, it's just a working title. I'd rather have "Punk Goes Pop" as a title than "Alternative Goes Pop". With the media now, almost everything alternative in rock is labeled "punk". And with the current indie scene of Punk, most of the bands sound similar.
  20. Official Rock & Metal Discussion Thread

I think Cassadee's better looking than Hayley, and I'm waiting for people to bandwagon love for Hey Monday. They'll get compared to Paramore alot because they have girl singers. Homecoming should be their first single, but the whole album is really good for a debut. And when I predict things...
