    And never made any sense to me, especially when the original women’s championship was probably their most historic belt they had because it existed I think prior to their heavyweight.

    Yeah, don’t get me started on how stupid that is. Especially when it’s entirely possible to just revive the original belt like they did with the United States championship in 2003 carries on the original United States championship lineage.

    This is very true. The funny thing is TNA didn’t even change the design of the belt. They just changed the tape over the original word and kept changing that.

    Yeah, from what I understand, they took the heavyweight and the intercontinental they merged them both, both retired, and then the new belt carries on the spiritual legacy of the two hence why it’s now called the world heavyweight championship. But it’s a brand new belt.

    I don’t actually hate the new design, but I do agree with you that retiring the lineage makes no sense of your top belt. WWE has done this a couple times with tags and women’s but why would you retire your top belt’s lineage and also yes, the V4 did look better. I just don’t hate the new one.

I was confused because traditionally the dominant title carries on the lineage and the other belt lineage retires or you do a new Japan does and retire them both when you’re introducing a brand new...

    They actually retired both and it’s a brand new lineage. This is why I was questioning what we were doing here. And yes, I agree before you reply that I thought that was a dumb idea too to have a brand new when it’s starting in 2021 instead of the history of your V4.

    I take that back. In my perfect world, it would replace both the continental and the TNT and that way the unified name would still make sense. And the International title remains in the TNT’s place.

    Should’ve been a trophy or a briefcase and not even called the continental title at all. It should’ve just been something you won for winning the continental classic and then you were able to use that to get a title shot at revolution.

    If you were to pick WWN, technically it includes all the WWN titles, the FIP titles and the shine and Shimmer titles.
