I'm tired of it...

I'm tired of people saying that WWE is going "family friendly" the past couple of weeks. All I see in the "Cena Changes STFU to STF" thread is people bashing WWE for going family friendly. Here's a thought...maybe WWE did it becuase they wanted to change the name of the move. No one within WWE has ever said they're going family friendly, just a bunch of wrestling reporter speculation. The WWE product we're seeing now, is the same product we saw 2 years ago. If WWE was really going family friendly, they wouldn't have an Elimination Chamber match, they wouldn't have divas wrestle half-naked on EVERY SINGLE SHOW.

I'm just tired of people saying that WWE is becoming more family friendly, when they're doing the same things they did 2 years ago.

Your right, all they did was change the rating from tv 14 or pg 13 (can't remember) to pg.. and just cut down on the swearing. Get over it and respect the fact that WWE is actually better right now than it has been in like a few years, so just enjoy it and shut the hell up

Uhhhh. maybe a better place for this would have been the thread about WWE aiming towards kids...instead of making a different thread to disagree with it.

Wait, so there ARE actually people who disagree with WWE's family friendly policy? How about ya know...actually posting in subjects regarding family friendly policies where one poor member got figuratively gangraped by over a dozen users who were in support of the new image instead of being chickenshit and creating your own thread where people agree with you? C'mon people if you have a position on an issue debate about it, dont just make a whole new thread because your afraid your the only one who feels this way.

According to some recent news,

Kelly Kelly was recently on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show, and when asked about WWE bringing back the Bras and Panties Matches, Kelly replied, "No not any more. We're PG now".

:y:

Good post (Tho' unfortunately, the rules regarding thread bumping inadvertantly discourages this.)...

Especially poignient seeing as the majortiy of peeps did indeed object to the so-called kid friendly approach until a handful of people had to re-re-re-re-explain the thinking behind the move and the fact that it was effectively a smart thing to do.

The divas are less naked than the men. And uh.....looking around, I don't see the women just involved in random sex-related angles. And how is the elimination chamber somehow a different league than wrestling itself? It's not like people lose limbs and stuff. Generally when you make your product more family friendly, you trim the fat around it, not the product itself. WWE - (sex + swearing) = PG rating. PG Rating = family friendly.

Ok, the bra and panties match is done with? WHO DA FX CARES? Honestly, did anyone actually enjoy watching those pathetic things? The only time I was really into them was when I was like 11. They are bacisally an idea used to keep the male audience interested as the show begins to lag. Takes up time, period. I dont mind...and actually prefer the WWE in the direction its going.

Travis, you can't deny that it is more family friendly. Whether you like it or not, saying that it's the same as it has been is bullshit. And you know it. WWE has clearly chanegd to be more family friendly. End of story.

It's fine if you like it, and it doesn't bother you, but you know as well as everyone else that they are going more family friendly.

Like I said, wwe is basically rebuilding. New stars, new characters, and now, they ened new fans. So they target a young audience, because alot of the old audience left. They're trying to gain more fans, so they market to kids. That's a smart strategy. And like I said, once their new audience gets older, they'll start doing more attitudeish and more teen/adult themed angles. Until then, I don't really care. But that's why they do it.

I obviously, like most people, like a bit of the edginess in storylines, but I can at least realise why they're doing this kids strategy, and know that eventually they'll complete the cycle, and go back to edgy stuff.

I don't think Travis's proble lies on the fact of WWE going family friendly or not, but more on the fact that everything that happens in WWE that people don't like, they assume is because of WWE being PG.

His example is great. Who in the hell says changing the name of Cena's finisher was because of WWE being PG? Nobody, but that doesn't stop people from making 3 threads about how WWE sucks for changing Cena's FU name because of going PG.
