I don't even know if I'd go that far. The Wednesday Night Wars was two companies owned by billionaires competing with one another. If NXT died it would have been by Vince's choice (which he never would do because that loses them money).

AEW could compete with NXT as long as TK was invested in the company. WWE was a corporation that even now makes more money than God.

TNA doesn't have that, they're owned by a relatively small company that makes a fraction of a fraction of what even AEW makes. It didn't work out for them in 2010, and it's going to be even worse in 2025, especially when their talent pool and booking is, respectfully, the drizzling shits compared to AEW now, and the talent they had in 2010.

USA literally asked them.to move nights because they thought splitting viewers was stupid. WWE went 2 hours live from 1 hour taped magically right on time for dynamite. Believe what you want to believe but ya...if you don't think WWE has not been trying to actively kill aew since the moment it became alive, you're frankly stupid.

So if TNA stays on Thursday, and AEW moves to Thursday. I guess AEW is the brilliant people getting Collision on a better night.

Here's the list of times Collision moved nights since it launched.
12/2/23. 9/6/24 (friday). 4/17/25. 5/8/25. 6/26/25. 7/10/25. 7/31/25.

So 4 times in the past 4 months AEW has intentionally competed with TNA. But YAY AEW! THEY'RE THE NICE GUYS NOT TRYING TO HURT THE SMALL LITTLE COMPANY TNA! And note they didn't do it that often at first. They started doing it all the time once TNA started a steady working relationship with WWE.

They're also competing with TNA AGAIN on 9/11.

I'm flabbergasted you actually believe the words you are typing. To actually believe aew being pre empted by the network to Thursday is to intentionally hurt distant third TNA. Despite zero reports or previous ill will.

Where's the rewrite? And I never once said WWE is the Little Guy. I'm not stupid. But I was watching NXT every Wednesday night at 8PM on the WWE Network. Then AEW said "We're going on Wednesday even though Tuesday was open for Wrestling!" At that point WWE did get USA to give them money to put their Wednesday show on TV (they were producing the show for free now they were getting money for it and putting it in more houses. Smart move on their part). Ultimately AEW outrated them and USA moved it to Tuesday (a smart move). That's called FACTS. HISTORY. EVIDENCE PROVES THIS STATEMENT TO BE TRUE.


Look I don't want TNA to move to Wednesday. I just understand the logic of doing what your boss tells you to do. If TNA gets a TV Deal that TV provider is the boss. They say when to air the product. If they say Wednesday you air Wednesday. Simple as that.

Well for one, NXT at any point was never under threat of closing, let's be frank.

AEW additionally had just gotten a TV deal on a broadcaster that was extremely famous in the wrestling business for having the primary rival to WWE. If you're a nascent company looking to garner PR and hype, why wouldn't you wanna go head to head with one of WWE's products? TK knew he wasn't going to kill NXT, nor was it ever under any threat. AEW more than had the means in terms of financial backing.

Going to Wednesdays was a deliberate choice by TK and WBD to give Dynamite a feeling of excitement.

Its also irrelevant and whataboutism. Nick Khan is part of the group trying to get them a deal. The TNA belts are on WWE TV. They now are saying maybe they could go on Wednesday. That's the topic at hand and going back to 2019 instead of addressing the weirdness around this is flagrant distraction talk.

The counter programming was funny at first but now it’s just getting absurd at this point. I saw a report of them planning Cena’s final match to go head to head with AEW, and as much as I love Cena, I think I’ll be picking AEW over that because his last opponent will probably be Brock again and I don’t like the end of his retirement tour being matches with fucking Logan Paul and Brock Lesnar.
