I dislike the idea that only for a certain level of player is it NAI. The sitting back could equally be a townie with a power role not trying to slip up early.

Well of course not, it's nuanced. Hence why I said it was a VIBE.

Also just ftr I wouldn't automatically assume someone sitting back early game is scum. That kind of tell for me only works one way, which is when someone DOES try to assert themselves on the game early. For myself and the people mentioned it def would not be enough to read them town, but for a lot of people it's a decent enough starting point

I think I can see where McHenry was coming from as well. He explained his view that he’s had his posts - specifically his openings - misconstrued in the past to it follows to me that he wanted to be additionally cautious how he was coming across. I can see a town motivation for wanting to do that.

Not sure how Sky takes a post that says, "Just trying to make an effort at being active since I'm pretty busy" and twists it into, "I'm admitting I'm just trying to look town here, folks!"

Seems like a logical step. Game-relevant activity early is seen as town > do some game related activity early to seem town

Though we've established in a recent game that my logic is completely on a different planet than everyone else apparently
