I haven't twisted any words. If something doesn't hurt, that means there's inherently an advantage to be gained, is there not?

In mafia, there is no neutral option. It's either positive or negative. Theme Spec is generally negative. Even if someone had theme knowledge, that isn't going to be an inherent advantage.

It seems to me like he's just trying to get things going, which I don't see any issues with. Do you disagree with what he is saying to Gipper re. theme spec?

well theme spec is actually a positive thing, especially if you think the host puts time and effort into flavour. As quite often it can be used to put puzzle pieces together, with even fake claim often offering a lay of information
