I have just posted the "main" awards since there are simply too many to post and too many obscure ones to include.

Who do you think will win the Oscar's for these categories?

Right who I think will win, and who I think should win:

Actor in a leading Role - Colin Firth (he was robbed last year)
Should win - James Franco

Actor in a supporting Role - Christian Bale
Should Win - Geoffery Rush

Actress in a leading Role - Natalie Portman
Should Win - Natalie Portman (but I wouldn't mind seeing Michelle Williams win, as she is excellent in everything and very underrated)

Actress in a supporting Role - Amy Adams
Should Win - Amy Adams

Animinated Feature - Toy Story 3
Should Win - Toy Story 3

Best Director - Tom Hooper (The King's Speech)
Should Win - Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan)

Best Picture - The Social Network
Should Win - Black Swan

The lead actress is actually the strongest cataogery, with three outstanding performances from Portman, Lawrence and Williams. Portman's turn is a career best, so no one can have any complaints when she wins the Oscar, althrough personally I would love Williams to win as she might not get another chance for awhile.

Firth is a shoe-in for the oscar which he should have won last year for A Single Man, but actually I really liked Franco in 127 Hours, it was such a differicult part to pull off. Bale is likely to win for his over showy display in the fighter, but it should be Rush who is so importmant in the scene with Firth in the KS.

I love Amy Adam, and she does add depth to what is a very patchy film, so I have no problem if she wins, but it is a close call between her and HBC, but I hear very good things about the young girl in True Grit and I would say she is a decdent dark horse.

Toy Story 3 was one of my favourite films full-stop last year, and I am would be amazed if it didn't pick the best animented award.

Black Swan is Aronofsky's masterpiece, and the verison and skill to bring all the elements together is a great acivement, and his is the best film of the contenders, but really it is a two horse race between the King's Speech and The Social Network for best film, I have had a feeling for the Social Network for months now, meanwhile I think Hooper will just edge out Fincher for best Director.

Lets have some more predictions and then we will see who gets the most right.

I'll be rooting for The Fighter. Saw it last week and absolutely loved it.

Wouldn't mind a Toy Story 3 win though. :p

King's Speech will run away with it, stupid movies about the Monarchy and WW2 always win. It's like why even bother nominating anything else.

Colin Firth - He already has this award wrapped up. He has been winning all the awards this season and it won't stop here.

Christian Bale - His main competition is Rush but I still think that Bale will win this. Rush has already won an Oscar once so I think that it may harm him in the voting.

Natalie Portman - She should have this one in the bag after her great performance. Her only real competition is Annette Bening who may get the win since she has missed out three times previously. The voting sometimes goes like that were it turns into a lifetime achievement rather than who deserves it most that year.

Melissa Leo - I can't see anyone beating her. Amy Adams will eventually win an Oscar(s) but it won't be this year. HBC is probably Leo's biggest competition but I think that Leo is clear favourite.

Toy Story 3 - If this loses I will be shocked.

"The Kings Speech" Tom Hooper - It will win because of the subject matter.

The Kings Speech - Again it is because of the subject matter. I would like to see Black Swan win this award but I doubt it will happen.

Best Motion Picture is a hard choice. I heard Black Swan was very, good was 127 hours and the Social Network.

I have to give it to Inception though. at first I wasn't completely impressed, but looking back on it and watching it again, it should have blown me away the first time I saw it. Maybe it was the douchy kids behind us who were talking that ruined the experience.

1. Think you are right Troy if there is any chance of someone else winning Best Actress it will might Benning, which i would have no problem with, but it has to be Portman surely.

2. Sorry wasn't a big fan of The Town or Renner's performance in it Goldstanded.

3. If you take away the word stipid from your post deezy then I agree!

So "The King's Speech" won best picture. Unfortunately I've only heard of this movie in the past week and never got the chance to see it. Since it won this award and got a lot of other accolades, I feel obligated to check it out now, so hopefully it's good.

It's weird, maybe it's just where I live, but I never got the trailer for that movie on TV at all. Usually that's where I first hear of movies.

7/7

Why the hell didn't I bet some money on it. Some of the odds would have been short but a multi would have made it worthwhile.

I wish I had it, it would make betting a lot easier.

This year's Oscars were very predictable, much more than previous years. I read that the ceremony was one of the most boring as well.

Yeah I hear Hathway and Franco who I both like were let down by some terrible metrial. I do think it makes more sense to stick with comedians as presenters, as I just think they bring a little something different to the table, and are more comtrable delivering those sorts of lines, from what I saw of last year, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin did a good job.

As for the predictions I got five out of seven on here, however on another forum where we did every catorgy I think I got about 13 correct, so you see Troy whose the know it all now?:lalala:

King's Speech is overrated for me, acting wise I have no problems with Firth winning and certainly not with Portman getting hers. Normally you don't get one or two shocks, really this year there were none.

Comedians hosting are better because they have no fear about upsetting people. Hathaway and Franco are both very young and will be up for many more awards in the next couple of decades so they would have been afraid to turn anyone against them. Older stars and comedians are better because they don't care and they realise they are there to entertain everyone.
