I mean from what i've read - its to prevent 3rd parties from filming rather than people actively engaging the police:

-The law also says that a person who is the subject of police activity can record as long as they're not being handcuffed, searched or subjected to a field sobriety test.

So if you start filming 7 feet away and then they tell you that's against the law, you can then keep filming bc they've engaged you? Especially in a country where people have guns more readily available - every third party that approaches police conducting business, create a level of danger for the officers involved. Sounds like a great way for people to mind their own business - when they have no stake in what is going on. If you don't know the person involved and are just filming for a video on facebook or YT, and you are too close to law enforcement and have been told to step back and don't - you're interfering in police business.

If the law was that bystanders needed to stay 7 feet from the cops while conducting business then yeah, but they threw in the filming part for a very obvious reason lmao like I can be honest and say I personally don't want to be recorded while I'm working but that's bc I fuck off at my job, but I'd def be coming up with some other "reasons" why it shouldn't happen besides that if they started discussing it I believe we should already have laws in place about interrupting ongoing police proceedings whether you are filming or not. Also wouldn't be an issue if everytime there's an incident the cop(s) fights like crazy to prevent the body cam footage from being released so we can't rely on that. No other way to hold police accountable, just look at the shit we're still finding put about Uvalde and they would have easily kept that hidden if it wasn't a major national story, they were shocked it didn't work this time clearly

last I heard he said there were too many bots compared to what twitter estimated so the value wasn't as high as he stupidly overpaid for a meme....which we all said from the start wasn't going to happen (and admittedly i thought I was wrong when it seemed like it was official at one point tho lol)

Yeah, I remember at one point one Middle Eastern investor (I think a Saudi Oil tycoon, too lazy to look it up), was trying to block the purchase because he was getting it at a very good price (or at least they thought it was). It wouldn't shock me if most Social Media platforms are loaded down with bots. I know MySpace got bad at one point, seemed like I would get a different hot chick trying to sell me cam pic or some shit on a daily basis.

Also, did you know there are some sites that allow you to purchase likes, friends, followers? Do you think that counts as bots too? I watched a few YouTube videos where some influencers (not sure of the platform) got busted doing so, or at least suspected of doing so. I just don't see how you could get paid by advertisers if your followers aren't real.

Because they don't care, as long as the numbers are high enough. Bots also move algorithms and other stuff, so advertisers don't need to care, because in the end enough real customers will be reached. Also advertising isn't *just* to sell products, don't forget that.
