I forgot about that. LOL The way he was being written the last year (of his career) or so and then with his returns, it was a bit ehhh.
The only thing I didn't like was that at the time I was a Rey fan and it pissed me off. I guess it was a job well done in terms of heel turns in that case.
Yea, this was before I was told it was scripted by my fellow classmates so that probably has something to do with it. I really liked the emotion there though plus Batista had genuine reason to turn heel because Rey was the one that took out Batista in that match so it made sense.
Then WWE messed up the heel thing afterwards by making him have a mini-feud with Matt Hardy of all people who was lower midcard at the time.
I'd always thought WWE was real and not scripted. Till My Mom told me 3-4 years ago that it was all on Script.
Ahh yeah I remember that now. Yeah they ruined that. It could have been something that lasted awhile. Then we ended up with the never ended feuds between Rey and ADR not too long after. Those annoyed me. Bumtista had his moments but would really have to show something special for people to care about him after a few weeks time now. Like if he came back next week, people would be all shocked and happy and then 2 or 3 weeks later, no one would care. lol

Well...there are plenty of guys who he could feud with that wouldn't
really be "impacted" to heavily by a win or a loss...
Triple H, Cena, Orton, Samoa Joe...
Did Batista & Lesnar ever have a big pay per view match?
If I was booking a Batista return I'd have him return with
the Authors of Pain as his "personal bodyguards" and have
the 3 of them seriously wreck some shit.
This is true and nope, they never did Brock vs Batista, and a lot of people wanted to see it happen.
And I like that idea. Having him be part of a group will make him relevant longer without him having to work as hard.

Wow...that seems like a no brainer to me...
The Beast vs. The Animal...with Heyman hyping up & booking
the match...it could truly be a big event, big money match.
That's the idea...the newer guys get the rub and do the heavy lifting
while Big Dave sits back & only gets involved when he has to.
Plus...I'm sure a Shield vs. Batista/AoP match would be great...even
if I personally wouldn't watch it.
