it isn't? it was last year in the playoffs. he doesn't shoot a good percentage anymore, and that's not good because he takes a million shots. u say rondo can't shoot, yet he's shooting 58%, pierce is shooting 35%. it's not just layups, we've reached the point where rondo is a better mid range shooter than pierce in my opinion. and even if rondo was shooting a lot worse, he's still a lot more helpful out there than pierce is. the defense has been bad too, but that was to be expected since it's still a new team adjusting. when bradley returns they'll be much better off there. doc needs to give green more of a chance to play, and play pierce less minutes. maybe if he only plays like 20 minutes a game he'll be more effective out there.

I don't like Boston, no scratch that I hate the damn jersey and everything attached to it.

That said Pierce shouldn't get shit for the team struggling. Rondo is not an easy back court guy to compliment based on the makeup of their current roster with teams having a whole camp and preseason to scout them, so there is no surprise like Bradley. Their win play is a mess as is their swing play as a whole. The fact is Terry, Barbosa, Lee all look damn good on paper, but it really doesn't look good between Rondo and Pierce with the way Boston plays. There is no floor balance so far, and the solution to that may be using Paul's weight in the triple threat area and on the block to draw defenders and then let those other three I mentioned shoot off of his draw and kicks from post ups and Rondo drives.

Allen isn't missed as much as the action and movement from double screens and pin downs he created to balance the floor so it couldn't be tilted by a D is severely lacking, sort of like how Chicago seemed night and day with Rip and Krover out last year or how Novak changes the Knicks dynamics

the Boston Celtics are easily played by sagging off Rondo and his lack of shot, as well as playing Pierce for the 3 ball and up close as Terry, Barbosa, and Lee aren't capable of putting it on the floor or running off screens the whole game, let alone posting up

just my take

Stop making decent basketball posts and go back to making reactionary roster moves in response to my baiting.

You're just being irrational now, there's no way in hell Doc will play Pierce 20 minutes a game. Him playing Pierce just 30 minutes a game would be a shock.

I think one of the secrets for success is the less PT for Jeff Green, the better.

or you could go small by shifting Paul to the 4. You could also use him as a stretch 4 like Anthony Mason or how Melo and Bron are now being used as he weighs that much and would have a matchup advantage most nights as long as he was willing to rebound. In fact Bass behind KG and Paul provides a better big rotation.

I would look at Rondo Terry Lee Pierce KG with Bradley Barbosa, Green and Bass off the bench personally for floor spacing and room to operate as Boston is missing a lot of motion actions without Ray Allen.

i know, 20 minutes is just what i'd like to see. green needs more of a chance to play and prove himself, pierce had his time. give green the same amount of touches as pierce, you'd see better results.

Green isn't good enough to play at SF primarily it's why the he and KD at2 and 3 thing failed and he moved to small 4.

Green is terrible, I tried to hold out hope for him but he's a lost cause.

This is his 6th season (Technically 5th since he missed a year), and we're still holding out hope for him to reach his potential, he's not. He's soft, he's not a consistent shooter, a terrible defender, just isn't that good of a player. He's an average player and the Celtics won't go anywhere relying on him to be a key contributor.

dude, he's played half a season for the c's, u act like he's been around 3 years. i'm not saying he's as good as pierce in his prime, but in 2012 green is better. it's just gotta be a matter of featuring him more, while slowly phasing pierce out of the offense.
