This sentiment is not in doubt, and if people feel they should wait it out, then sure, just say you're withholding judgement until more facts come out.

People who dismiss it on the basis, as Blaze said, that it could be "another Jussie Smollet", and only on that basis, really comes off with the sentiment that minorities, in general, will lie about hate crimes that occur. Which is a thinly veiled racist gaslight. (yes, *that* gaslight ).

It depends on the facts of the case, but if the situation sounds smelly I can find a very reasonable reason to be skeptical and say another Jussie Smollet because honestly a lot of people even questioned his story before it actually came out. The details never added up.

There's always going to be racists, but I don't think that accounts for everyone with a healthy amount of skepticism and honestly I don't even think this should specifically be about this particular case, but any crime people want to believe everyone because why would they lie. All people lie about everything and anything if they think it can get them something.

Jussie wasn't even the only hate crime hoax during Trump's presidency, just the most documented since he was such a high profile celebrity at the time.

All that being said, throw the book at any person who commits a hate crime and bury them under the prison.

Sentencing generally doesn't occur until months afterward.

Looks like the Supreme Court is allowing Texas's abortion ban to stand until they deliberate on Roe vs. Wade.

Which pretty much just means that Roe vs. Wade is going to fall.

The Texas law goes too far, but I support the Mississippi law. I don’t see why 15 weeks isn’t a good deadline. That gives a near solid 4 months to choose.

In most countries, including my own, 3rd trimester abortions are banned already anyways so yeah, it's not even a needed law. it's just another wedge issue people lie about. No one is actually getting abortions that late in the first place, either, unless they are medical ones decided by a doctor because the fetus is either dead or will cause potential death for the carrier. Literally no one gets or wants 3rd trimester abortions
