Ron DeSantis is one of the biggest fucking jokes in American politics. The fact he's managed to swindle people into thinking he's a competent politician is nothing short of astounding.

Reading about New Zealands upcoming 'smoking ban' law. And all the comments on Fox News are "I don't smoke but people should be free to choose to do what they want..."

By their reasoning shouldn't Meth and Crack and Heroin all be legal? I should be free to choose what I put in my body, so why can't I legally buy crack?

By the same token why do the government get to decide how fast I can travel in my car? Sure speeding would put other people at risk, but so does second hand smoke... so if I should have the freedom to kill others with second hand smoke then why can't I drive 150mph whenever I want?

These same people who cry about the Government taking away 'freedoms' are also the ones who cry like babies whenever I wear my F**k Your God t-shirt in public...

Why don't they just admit they only agree with the freedoms that fit their agenda?

Also the New Zealand law to ban smoking is a great idea. There's no benefit to smoking, it puts a toll on the healthcare system, costs the taxpayer a fortune, causes problems for people who don't smoke via second hand smoke... the only reason people can give me for smoking is that it relaxes them....go drink some herbal tea ya f**king babies... either that or toughen up and just deal with it like the rest of us.

Agreed. Shit like that, is part of the problem. We have real hate crimes going on in the world, real racism and real fucking problems. This idiot wants to cause issues by reporting a hate crime that ain’t even real. Since then, I’ve seen people brush stuff off before any facts come out. “Probably just another fucking Jussie Smollett.” and it’s sad. So 100% glad he was charged for it.

You should wait for the facts to come out. The fact this happened shows that there are dumb motherfuckers out there willing to lie about anything. But, that's also why it's so important to actually charge these people to disincentivize people from doing it again. Because false reports only hurt real victims.

Yep exactly. I feel the same way about people who falsely accuse someone of rape. People get mad when you want to wait for facts, but they’ve been times it’s falsely reported, and I feel that if you report a crime and it’s fake, whatever they would and could have been charged with(time wise anyway, not the actual crime.) you should get.

This sentiment is not in doubt, and if people feel they should wait it out, then sure, just say you're withholding judgement until more facts come out.

People who dismiss it on the basis, as Blaze said, that it could be "another Jussie Smollet", and only on that basis, really comes off with the sentiment that minorities, in general, will lie about hate crimes that occur. Which is a thinly veiled racist gaslight. (yes, *that* gaslight ).
