You don’t seem to be nearly as bad as Jim is. Like he just seems to hate every single thing.
Everything has to change. What worked in the 70s or 80s wouldn’t work now tbh. It had some great stuff, but like I just don’t see where it would work on a big scale now.

Well, the 70s, 80s, and 90s had a different style, certainly. However, it was actually treated more like a sport in the US back then. VKM changed a lot of that when he coined the phrase "Sports Entertainment ". We all know why that happened.
In my opinion, a lot of the goofiness has turned a lot of fans away from wrestling in general. The build ups aren't as epic. Today's top stars aren't as believable as the top stars from the past. No one is really a heel or face. That is a huge factor there. Too many wrestlers try to duplicate what SCSA was able to do, but still try to mimic him. The main difference is, when he was a heel, you knew it. When he was a face, you knew it. You have guys like Owen's and Zayne trying to be cool heels and make people like them, rather than generating heat from the crowd. It just seems like a lot of fans left, and instead every company is trying to appease the few Smarks left in the crowd.
Too many spots are used in meaningless matches, that they lose meaning in big matches. Too many gimmick matches. Too many champions that they lose meaning. I could go on and on.
I agree somethings that worked then wouldn’t work now. However, there were a lot more fans then and we didn't have the internet back then neither. RAW went from averaging 6s to just being happy to get a 2.
