Becky Lynch recently spoke with Charlotte Gibson of espnW to promote WWE's partnership with the Special Olympics. She also discussed her pregnancy and stepping away from the WWE ring. Lynch admitted that it's tough to take time off, but the decision to start a family at this time was the right one for her.

"Well, it's tough because I've given my whole life to wrestling and to moving forward in my career," Lynch said. "But this was a choice that, for me, felt like the right one. Because it is wild that a lot of women still have to choose between their athletics or a family. And I didn't want to have to choose that. For me, this was the right time to go and start a family, something that I've always wanted to do. And so I feel like I've achieved nearly everything I could achieve in wrestling. I think there's nothing more important than family. And I'm so excited to experience that and to have this other person that is half me and half the love of my life that I get to show love."

Lynch named RAW Women's Champion Asuka, Mickie James and Lacey Evans when asked who she looks up to when it comes to female athletes who balance motherhood and their careers.

"Bringing it closer to home, I'll talk about the mothers in my own line of work: WWE superstars Asuka, Mickie James and Lacey Evans. They've all proven that you can do both," she said.

Lynch was asked about how it feels to know that she has the option to return to her career once she's given birth, as demonstrated by the Superstars she named before. She said this is something she's always preached and wanted women to have that equality.

"That's something that I've always preached and wanted women to have that equality," Lynch said. "And of course, to be on the level with the male performers and be on the same level in terms of pay, in terms of treatment. But also, this kind of goes hand in hand where a guy can go and have a kid and doesn't have to miss a beat in his career. Unfortunately, we do. But that's also a fortunate thing because we get to experience things that they never will, but also it just doesn't mean that it's got to be the end for a career in any line. And I think a lot of people have proved that, and I hope to join them."

The Mom also confirmed that she does plan to return to the WWE ring when she's able to. She was asked about her plans to return to the ring and if that's something she's even thinking about right now.

"Yeah. It's one of those things where I know what I feel and think as a person without a child," Lynch said. "I don't know what that's going to look like when I do have one, and that's my priority. I'll tell you, it'll give me more motivation than ever, I could imagine. But this isn't the end of me, one way or the other."

Lynch and fiance Seth Rollins are expecting their first child to arrive in December.

This interview made it seem more likely that she would want to return down the line but i'm not going to take anything she says right now too seriously since that can easily change when the baby actually arrives.

I have no doubts that Becky expects to make a return rn but like Dale said who knows how her thoughts could change once the baby is born. I hope she comes back but at the same time, I'd understand. She main evented Mania and had a year long reign, a hulluva career really

My prediction? She returns at Wrestlemania 39 and it's awesome. I can't imagine her returning to work within the first 2 years given that she has a choice.

I could see her returning at a Rumble or a Raw after SummerSlam or Mania over an actual Mania itself tbh. 2023 isn't a bad prediction, kinda leaning towards 2022 myself depending on a lot of different variables but who knows tbh

Yeah, I could see the Rumble being more likely. Hopefully the world is great by then and fans can be there. Would be a hell of a pop.

I just think Wrestlemania get's her the biggest pop, and that's where WWE does it's best returns in my opinion.

I can't remember many returns off the top of my head actually at Mania tbh but i do agree it would get the best pop.

Honestly just bc this is Becky, we probably aren't gonna get that shock factor pop, it'll be advertised as a big return unfortunately. And I could see that being at Mania

I'm gonna be mad if the return is ruined. :smh so much shit gets ruined nowadays, and not just by the internet but by WWE themselves. I'm glad they didn't post anything like "EDGE TO BE IN ROYAL RUMBLE." as that would've really made me mad. Even with the rumors, it still wasn't confirmed so him coming out popped me. I need that moment with Becky also. As I'm sure by the time she comes back I'll have missed her and got over being bored of her.

Rumble and Raw after Mania or SummerSlam are the only ones that get the shock factor it seems nowadays, I mean i don't blame it bc they are kinda desperate to get people to watch at times and advertising a big return should help theoretically, it just hurts those of is watching weekly bc its not as cool of a moment for us

I personally was really upset when they announced Mysterio coming back at smack down 1000. Mostly just because I was there.

She will come back and I think it will be sooner than later. I wouldn't be shocked if it will be the royal rumble or later which sets up a mania match.

Announcing Bryan was cleared to compete before he made the announcement himself on Smackdown was a fucking travesty. They took so much out of that moment all for the sake of slightly popping a rating.

As for Becky. Soonest I imagine she'd return is like 6 months after the kid is born, so SummerSlam season 2021 would be a good estimate there. Who knows, though. She might be the anomaly that actually stays away without being forced out. But those odds are incredibly slim.

I just hope they don't try and put pressure on her to return quicker than she would like to, but if there's anything I learned from watching the Taker documentary, then this is highly likely to happen.

Also, I want her return to be legit kept as secret as possible as I want that pop and feeling like when Edge returned. While the reception returning at a Rumble would be great, it's also too predictable just like if she was to return on the Raw after Mania.

I think Rumble pops work so well mostly bc you can have so many entrants that are meh and then that one time the buzzer hits and it's Edge (which was also kinda expected by that point), you still go nuts for it.
