Inspired by Reddit posts such as this or this, I've decided to track down the histories of some titles. I did "the letter T" during a particularly boring Raw live thread some time ago, and I feel like doing more. I'll be using Cagematch to track each person's matches.

A brief explanation: we take anything that was won as the result of a match, and track its history as if it were a title that could change hands if the winner loses any time afterwards.
Standard rules: Whatever's being competed for can only be defended in worked matches where a wrestler competes as a single, as the result of a decisive victory (no DQ or count-out, no battle royal appearances, no handicap matches).

Cody Rhodes: 81

Who is the rightful holder of Hulk Hogan's WWE Hall of Fame ring?

Inspired by the Abyss vs. Ric Flair Ring vs. Ring match and the Ring vs. Chelsea match against Desmond Wolfe. Yeah, 2010 TNA was weird.

And that's where it ends, as Edge retired after WM27 and has only unretired for one qualifying match since (at WM36, which he won). So, we now know that not only is he Dominick's Papi, Edge has a bottle of 20-year-old Viagra and the elderly mother of an Attitude Era midcarder to use it on (you know, in case he ever gets tired of Beth Phoenix).

(edit 2024-10 for OP cleanup)

Send in more suggestions!

Here's another WCW 2000 one bc I watched a lot of that last year and they had a lot of these :lmao

Who has control of Scott Hall's WCW contract? Bc Nash and Goldberg wrestled that match for it and Goldberg won and ripped it up or some shit.

Related to my previous search for the lineage of Hogan's Hall of Fame ring, we've got this stipulation. Spoilers for my TNA rewatch, as we see:
Who has rightful control of Chelsea (Desmond Wolfe's valet)?

2010-05-16 Abyss - claims Chelsea from Desmond Wolfe at TNA Sacrifice, in a match where Abyss' ring is also on the line (even though he already lost it)
2010-06-28 Jeff Hardy - beats Abyss on TNA Impact
2010-07-11 Rob Van Dam - beats Hardy, Abyss, and Mr. Anderson in a Four-Way match at TNA Victory Road
2010-10-26 AJ Styles - beats RVD and Rhino in a Triple Threat match on TNA Impact
2010-11-12 Raven - beats Styles at a TNA live event
[...]
2011-08-13 Strong Man - beats Suzuki at NJPW G1 Climax

Well, that was short and disappointing. Strong Man not only has a WWE Hall of Fame ring but a Florida-area model as well.

Chelsea was fine good for him :WOW

Yoshi Tatsu and Tyson Kidd had a match with Yoshi's action figure's broken leg on a poll during the travesty that was season 5 of NXT. Who owns the Yoshi leg now?

In that case, let's do what @Chris said:
Who has rightful control of Scott Hall's WCW contract?

2000-07-09 Goldberg - wins it against Kevin Nash at WCW Bash at the Beach, and tears up the scrap of paper it's written on
2000-07-10 Jeff Jarrett - beats Goldberg, Kanyon, and Scott Steiner in a Four Corners match on WCW Monday Nitro
2000-07-30 Booker T - beats Jarrett at a WCW live event
2000-08-28 Kevin Nash - beats Booker on WCW Monday Nitro
2000-09-17 Booker T (2) - beats Nash in a Steel Cage match at WCW Fall Brawl
2000-09-25 Vince Russo (!!) - beats Booker in a Caged Heat match on WCW Monday Nitro

Russo only had 1 other qualifying match (during the weekly PPV years of TNA, against D-Lo Brown, which ended in a no contest). So, it's the ultimate swerve! Russo had Hall's contract all along!
