I'd have a lot of them post 2001, actually, just that more of my list would be from the 30's, 40's, and 70's.
My thing is modern horror is in serious drought so if most of your list is between 30s and 70s, my point still stands.

Though, not sure why you're stopping at the 70s when the 80s was horror nirvana imo.

If I made a list of my 100 favorite horror films, I'd be surprised if 10 of them were made after 2001.

Nah I'd have a lot but like grim I'd probably have a lot from the 30s-50s too where yours would probably just be 70s-80s bc of that nostalgia disease clouding your judgment 8D but fr i do think that was peak horror

But Bray isn't even facing The demon :O I just want Bray to break the mold here the firefly shit is fun I love it but like I wanted more shit where he be battling the hurt and heal over every person an inner fight not just HURT HURT HURT
If The Fiend doesn't attack you, the heal part of Bray saved you.

I'd argue it isnt in a drought but the really popular ones just suck, a lot of really good ones I've just found on Netflix not knowing wtf it was before like it follows which I think grim mentioned as well

90s would be my nostalgia. I was 4 when the 80s ended. I had to go back to watch 80s no different than I would 70s or 50s.

30s and 50s though is bit too old to get into it for me. 60s isn't too too bad. Psycho especially is essential viewing.

I just really fucks with the OG monster movies like Nosferstu and Frankenstein plus the (hot take alert) SUPERIOR sequel, Bride of Frankenstein

I mean that's possible, but you shouldn't have to find obscure titles to find good horror. Primary studies used to make good horror.

70's was peak Giallo and Supernatural gothic horror. You have movies like Deep Red, Suspiria, Dawn of the Dead, Friday The 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, It's Alive, The Omen, The Exorcist, Jaws, Alien, etc coming out around the time and then you have the super obscure horror hits like Last House on The Left, The Sentinel, Black Christmas, Phantasm, The Hills Have Eyes, and When A Stranger Calls.

There's some good OG monster movies, but I doubt if you were just including those, they would fill up a majority of your top 100.
