I get that. I just don't dig the concept of town being allowed to talk during the night phase in game. The game isn't halted, it just all actions between town are regulated to actions from there abilities. I will sit this out and watch. I just read it and was like what?

No offense to you, but you haven't sold the game to me, atleast. And, lets be honest, we don't have alot of people on the forum right now save for the few we do see. Mafia isn't for everyone.

I maybe am being misunderstood. The premise around mafia, is that 24 hour day phase, the game thread is active. The 24 hour night phase no one is to post in the game thread save for the host posting writing the writeups. That's how I play where I am from. I mean, @Grim, I came from places where we do full on themed games around Dragon Ball Super, and various other mediums. We have the wrestlemania of mafia games once a year called favorites. I haven't seen a mafia game played here yet, so don't take what I say as being disrespectful. I'm just accustomed to mafia being played a certain way. And, it's been that way for bout seven years now. So I was asking questions.

No night posting comes from when Mafia was played live and town had to close their eyes to mafia could plan their actions. Mafia were never able to discuss with each other during the day and in order to be able to discuss at night town had to be effectively kept in the dark to avoid seeing mafia interact. None of that is needed on internet mafia. Mafia can discuss day and night and there’s no practical reason for town not to be able to do so as well. That said, no one forces you to post at night. Stay quiet until the next day if you’d like. This is more so we don’t have to punish people for accidentally posting at night. It’s just an outdated and unnecessary mechanic.

Like I said, themed games are coming. That’ll be like 99% of what we do if this section gets off the ground. We have to ease people in first. You can observe this first game if you like, but I will drag you into the first themed game. Fair warning!

It’s really not more challenging. If anything is less challenging because if you can post at night, you have to be extremely careful what you say because mafia is watching. That said, I already explained why it’s outdated. There’s literally no reason for it.

How would you know who mafia is by being able to post at night?

Being staff is irrelevant. Our opinion isn't more important.

That said, you haven't stated how it would be counterproductive at all. You've only said that's just how you're used to it being, but we've told you why it's an entirely pointless rule that has no bearing on the game whatsoever. You're not even forced to post. Don't post at night, you're free not to. It changes nothing if you do or don't.

The fact the way you guys do it is not how I play mafia. Or not how MOST forums run mafia. Even the yearly held mafia championships my forum goes to follows the same ruleset. You guys are the only people I have ever seen that post during the night phase. But, its not about staffs opinion only meaning something, it just means to me I have no reason to entertain the conversation anymore.
