So last night we were at a party on the roof of a building in downtown Toronto and at about 11:00 PM someone noticed something weird in the sky.....

They appeared to be 11 individual orange dots that sort of hovered around for a bit before disappearing. Weird right? Anyhow, even weirder than that, several people from the party took pictures and tweeted them but none of those tweets ever seem to have made it to twitter. There were other people who had posted something about strange lights in the Toronto sky, but those tweets have been removed as well. Really fucking weird, although the general explanation seems to be that they're Chinese Lanterns, which is plausible if somewhat odd given there was no Chinese festival anywhere in Toronto last night.

Anyone have any thoughts on what these might be?

They more than likely are Chinese Lanterns. They've become quite a talking point in this country (due to their track record of setting things on fire) and we don't have a lot of Chinese festivals.

Yeah I agree. I've lit Chinese Lanterns myself, and thats what they look like.
