Out of all the martial arts the IOC could drop from the Olympics, they choose wrestling? Cool, let's take the most important and ancient martial arts and label tremendous athletes like Jordan Burroughs and Dan Gable useless. (I know there's a large generation gap there but still!)

Where are all the people who're aspiring to the olympics gonna go? Yes they could go to MMA but I'm sure not all people who're trying to become wrestlers want to get punched in the face. At least the PanAm games are still a possibility, at least my niece will have somewhere to obtain glory when she finally gets to the point of being able to go somewhere with her wrestling career.

Guess the Olympics dropping wrestling to make room for more sissy sports. Then again we are sadly in a new era where being a sissy is the standard.

Actually, my wife did synchronized swimming in college and trust me, its not easy and requires a lot of athletic skill. That being said, I don't believe it should be in the Olympics simply because I don't like sports that are judged. I feel there's too much corruption involved and there's no way to really determine a definitive winner, whereas in a sport like Hockey or Wrestling, there is.

I agree. I'm no hater, and it does require quite a bit of athleticism (considering the way they explode into those flips and shit). If you do synchronized swimming than by all means keep doing yo thang.

I just don't think it should be in the olympics because it lacks competition. The whole point of athleticism is to push yourself more than the other person/team.
