John Byrne wrote an awesome Aliens comic called Earth Angel that had them on Earth in the 50's. I always remember it because there's a great scene where a bunch of people are watching a monster movie at the drive-in and the aliens attack. At first they think its just promotion for the movie but when they start getting killed everyone panics!
