According to at least one key WWE insider, there will be many more major shakeups as WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is “hell bent†on his re-branding initiative, and is “determined to completely re-invent the public image of WWE.â€

While one source within the company points to the exit of COO Donna Goldsmith as “Vince deciding just to let everyone know his vision for WWE’s image moving into the next generation,†another source said “this has been something Vince has been discussing on-and-off for almost a year, and now he’s decided to pull the trigger on it…so he’s gung-ho to get everyone into the new mentality.â€

Interesting to read. Vince really does seem determined to step away from the company being mainly based around wrestling, and making it Entertainment based instead. Though I prefer solid wrestling based shows I am welcome to more entertainment being added to the WWE, for one reason. I see this being done so WWE can finally land there own tv network (channel w/e), instead of being shown on various networks. I know Vince is high on this, and I am guessing if it does happen it will be better in the long run with the company creating more shows for talent to be showcased.

Maybe a good way to branch out, but your going to lose a lot of your core audience. Really WWE is trying to please everyone but it just won't work. Do what your best at while entertaining at the same time.

WWE will always be wrestling no matter what they do. The core of the business will be wrestling, RAW and Smackdown will be the main money winners along with PPV's. They can branch out from there but they will still be all about wrestling. If he wants to let the entertainment world that WWE do more than wrestling then fine but I can't see the public perception changing. When people say WWE they think wrestling, in fact I see it quite often where the press will still say WWF and haven't even moved forward from that yet.

Does anyone remember about 18 months ago when there was talk that Santino was getting his own tv show? Maybe they could do that when they introduce the tv network.

This is nothing new. This is what Vince has been attempting to do since he took over the company. It's just Vince trying to make more money, and that is something he does well.

Most of the core audience, like Chase said, are hardcore wrestling fans. They like the pure matches and certain hardcore storylines, so if this companies top priority isn't going to be wrestling that could be hurtful losing that audience. But we'll see come this next year.

Wrestling enthusiasts are the ones who stick it out the longest, especially the internet fans. I've been on forums for a long time, and I've seen some of the same people complaining about the product for years on end....yet they continue to watch. The core audience will always be there, complaining but watching regardless.

yeah Vince isn't stupid. if you dont like TNA witch is made up of some younger talent & a bunch of washed up old WCW / ECW / WWE stars that WWE fans got sick of seeing all the time. then u kno they are not going to go watch TNA just cause vince is changing the image of WWE. I think all what vince is doing is using WWE as a parent company & creating different divisions under the WWE name. Raw / Smackdown / PPV's will always be wrestling. What people are not getting is that vince wants to create more entertainment base movies / shows that do not relate to wrestling seeing as w/ the fall of his latest wrestling addition NXT being pushed off syfy n strictly wwe.com & w/ losing the WGN America spot for WWE Superstars. W/ the launch of bringing Tough Enough back this time learning from their mistakes. I see big things coming from that. Basically remember WCW? owned by Ted Turner who at the time owned TNT & TBS? Well vince wants to take WWE (leaving it as simple WWE. 3 letters, no meaning, simply WWE) & turn it into a Broadcast network. I think he is going to leave RAW & Smackdown on their respective channels. How ever take superstar documentaries & movies that WWE Films produced & other movies featuring WWE talent & hosting it on it's own network. Along side w/ creating new entertainment talent & content. Expanding the image of WWE rather than just as WRESTLING.
