E! ANNOUNCES NEW SERIES REVEALING THE REAL WOMEN BEHIND THE WWE® DIVAS THAT PROVES THE DRAMA IS EVEN BIGGER WHEN THEY STEP OUTSIDE THE RING

"Total Divas" Goes Inside the Personal Lives of the Sexy Superstars Who Entertain Tens of Millions of Passionate Fans Every Week and the Newcomers Vying for that Coveted Title
Since 95% of the women in the WWE eventually want to move on to television/movies, the WWE will be able to keep women around longer.

I think is actually a brilliant idea for a lot of reasons. WWE is a HUGE exponent of the reality TV thing from Tough Enough to some elements of it's weekly programming WWE was doing reality TV earlier, and better, than lots of big outlets. Oddly, when reality TV REALLY took off and then subsequently became the debacle and shit-stain on society it now is; WWE didn't capitalise properly.

This is going to give MEANING to Diva interactions and hopefully the events that happen on the show will bleed into WWE television. Part of the problem with the Diva's division is that it's best and/or most over Diva's AREN'T vying for the gold. Why haven't we got Nattie vs AJ right now in some sort of "best women wrestler" vs "I'm the best thing going" rivalry? They're stuck behind male talent whilst Kaitlyn holds the gold and most won't even know she's champ. So this show should do two things. For the non-wrestling types who just want their face/body on TV and to be famous it means more exposure so good for them BUT, if WWE are smart, they will use the show to display all their female characters, alignments and personality types so that on TV feuds mean so much more without taking up TV time on Raw and Smackdown.

The show will highlight the lives of five current WWE Divas — Natalya, The Bella Twins and The Funkadactyls — and hit the ground running, following a tag team match between The Bellas and Funkadactyls on the last Raw before WrestleMania 29. The show will follow the lives of WWE's women as they travel around the country, living, loving and competing along the way. Viewers will also be introduced to Eva Marie and Jo-Jo Offerman, two prospective new Divas who have yet to earn their stripes, and will be tested along the way before they’re accepted into WWE’s prestigious women’s corps.
Can't see it being a true reality show, I imagine from reading this exert from WWE that it's going to be worked in certain areas, setting up confrontations and what not.

I'm not interested in the show, but I might give it a go just to see what it's like.

It's on E!, not expecting a quality show, probz not the worst show on that network.

Divas actually having personalities? What a concept!

Sounds kayfabey, but I mark for hott twins and the Bellas fufill that quota.

Would rather it was Jersey Shore-esque and they holed the Divas up in a pad for a few weeks, showing them slutting it up on the town and such, but we all know how the Divas are POSITIVE ROLE MODELS and POWERFUL, INDEPENDANT WOMEN who dont need no man, or however that trailer thing goes.

It makes sense to give the divas actual personalities and maybe mix in some wrestling .... Sort of like the And 1 tour when it used to come on TV.

The girls need personalities. This is the reality tv show age. They are women and society has an idea of them being naturally bitchy, emotional, back stabbing, and traveling in cliques so it works if done right. I honestly think this would have worked even better if they had Kelly and Maria though. Interesting to see they got E! to green light it as a sister of USA and SyFy.

Plus I just think this is a test for an all divas show on the network if it goes well ... It can't be worse than nxt3 ... Maria Menunos also works for E so maybe wwe had plans for her there

Here's the wwe.com press release

The series will focus on a select group of seven women from the ranks of the WWE Diva corps. Five are established Divas who are no strangers to the life, and two are newbies, girls who have entered into the Diva training program, but have yet to prove themselves worthy of the title. Throughout the series, we will see these women attempting to establish their own pecking order, as the new girls attempt to handle the jealousy and pressure that comes with working your way up the ladder for the most airtime, ring time and top celebrity status. With no two days alike and juggling their constant demands, the Divas definitely find time to celebrate their star status by traveling the world for their various charities, appearing in feature films, attending star-studded red carpets and glamorous photo shoots. Through it all, the everyday challenges of maintaining relationships with their boyfriends, as well as their families, in their over the top lifestyles start to take their toll on the girls.

Appearing in the series are the Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki, a pair of seasoned veterans who have reached superstar status in the WWE ring and earned their places in the spotlight. The duo will work harder than ever to maintain this level of excellence, whether the newbies like it or not. Naomi and Cameron are two knockouts whose dance routines have made them stars on the tour. When conflict and success collide head on between these two, will both be left standing? They don't call them Divas for nothing! Natalya is a third-generation sports entertainment star who knows the ropes and knows them well. She's seen lots of doors open for other Divas, but often finds herself left behind when it comes to achieving superstar status. Can she continue to soldier on as a perennial "bridesmaid"? And tagging into the ring as the newest member of the Divas is Eva Marie, a passionate, sexy, extremely competitive force that wants stardom more than anyone else. Also joining in on the action is Jo--Jo Offerman, an entertainer at heart, young and energetic who will no doubt be a charismatic force in the ring.

The show kicks off with an unprecedented look inside the most-anticipated WWE event of the year, WrestleMania®, marking the first time that any television series was granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to WWE. Following the drama, the series heads to WWE’s flagship television program, Monday Night Raw®, with a match between the Bellas in one corner, and Naomi/Cameron (aka “The Funkadactyls”) in the other. They bring on the drama from the very start, and alliances are quickly formed on the road as the new girls choose sides. And with some WWE Superstars vying for the romantic attention of the girls, the drama comes to a boil quickly, and shows no sign of slowing down.

The Reality TV show craze is practically on life support right now and it's not nearly the fad it was 5 years ago.

Maybe if WWE had cashed in on this idea sooner... you know... when reality TV was actually the craze and the diva roster wasn't so pathetic, this might have had potential. Too little too late if you ask me.
