Roman Reigns came out to the ring and cut a promo on how he planned on beating the shit out of Lesnar at the Rumble and take the WWE Universal Championship. He was interrupted by the WWE Intercontinental Champion Samoa Joe(c) who said that Reigns should focus on reclaiming the title he lost and not setting his sights on a new one.

Reigns fired back saying that Joe wouldn’t even be champion if Lesnar hadn’t interfered which led to Joe stating he could beat Reigns whenever and wherever and didn’t need anyone’s help telling Lesnar to stay out of it. The two men brawled which led to the RAW locker room coming out to separate them.

WWE Intercontinental Championship - Steel Cage - Must end by Pin or Submission
Samoa Joe(c) V Roman Reigns
The two men wasted little time in beating the shit out of each other and went back and forth for about half an hour. Reigns attempted a Superman Punch only for Joe to catch it and spin him around and then locked in the Coquina Clutch. But Reigns powered out of it and dropped backwards onto the mat which resulted in Joe breaking the hold.

From here, Reigns got back to his feet and attempted a Spear only for Joe to move out of the way and he hit the ref instead. Then Joe dragged Reigns up and kicked him below the belt and sent him into one of the corners and hit a Muscle Buster for the pin, and the ref recovered enough to make the three count.
