Granted about Edge but Orton was primed to for that win. He was the "Legend Killer", had he ended the streak, he would have been on top of the WWE that year. He didn't get into the main event for nearly three years after that match.

He won the damn world title from Chris Benoit his second year in the WWE! He held the US title over on Smackdown and about a year after that he came back to Raw and began the Age of Orton. He has had almost no downtime his entire stint in the WWE, the lowest he's ever been is IC champ a couple months in. I loved Orton back then and it would have been great for him to end the streak but his momentum was through the roof without it, it didn't really matter.

I would LOVE Miz to break the streak...Miz is the man and has worked just as fuckin hard if not harder to be where he is then anyone else...Taker was handed main event status the minute he showed up...Miz was made fun of and joked on and he worked his ass off to be a main eventer

The World title reign lasted one month and was in 2004, before he faced Undertaker. WreslteMania 21 was in 2005 and the Age of Orton didn't start until nearly the end of 2007/2008, nearly three years later. Had he bested Undertaker, he could have been the man in WWE instead of Batista. Who IMO was a real dud.
