WWE Raw is coming to Netflix!

They can also cancel after 5. I doubt they do, but then again Netflix is known for just canceling shit
That to me does't matter.........ir can go to shit, but they will get money regardless....the sandmand guy and Snyder gonna get their money even though those didn't well.

That’s still a longtime for WWE if the arrangement isn’t as beneficial as Netflix hoped.
Like, I honestly see them at least going the full 10.

I’m just curious if they will have to give them some sort of notice if they decide after 5 years they are done, or if they can just drop them. Because like, if they could just drop them without warning at that point, they might get a shit deal afterwards if they are desperate to get it back on somewhere. When they got time to negotiate like they did here, they can shop around and work something out. If they get dropped on a Thursday and need a new deal by Monday, someone could lowball them.

Internationally Netflix gets the Peacock arrangement. I’ll probably vpn and watch my stuff through Netflix.

I’m gonna miss the WWE Network app itself though. I still had it through my vpn and I don’t think any other wrestling apps came close to how great the ui was and it’s useful functionality.

I do like the Netflix app, though, so I’m hopeful the WWE archive integration works well.

I haven't fucked with Netflix in like2 years....but id WWE on it.......hello my momeu
Probably about the same. When they went to $22 for the same plan I’d had since 2011 or so I knew it wasn’t worth it. Mind you by this point Max came out and took most of its classic tv lineup.

I had Netflix til HBO Max, now Max came out. At that point I wasn’t even using Netflix much, and Max had a lot of content I wanted. So Netflix was dropped in favor of it. Now it’s getting good stuff again lol.

With an option to renew to 20 years. What a fucking deal.
I actually think the 20 year thing could be terrible for WWE. The deal could be the steal of the century for Netflix if rates keep going up, and with more inflation.

I am looking forward to checking it out. I'm assuming it's just like when using Triller.TV fka FITE. Just switch your location and poof it's there?

Indeed. Vpn location and what I do is I open a brand new window with whatever it is. I’m trying to spoof my location for so it doesn’t still have a cookie if you being in the other place.

Netflix’s co-CEO Greg Peters recently gave an interview to Stratechery.com, where he talked about Netflix’s deal with WWE. Greg Peters feels WWE is under-distributed and it’s been under-leveraged.

“We love this deal for a whole variety of reasons. One is that the one you mentioned, which we think that this is quite close to what we do. We think we are in the business of telling dramatic stories around sports. You’ve seen it with Drive to Survive or Break Point, Full Swing. We feel that’s a space that we’ve earned the right to play and an expectation to deliver value to consumers, and we feel like this is in that zone.”

“We also love it, because as you mentioned, this is 52 weeks of entertainment. This is always on entertainment, sports entertainment, and it fits really well within our model. We think it’s synergistic with what we’re doing on ads, and we like it from that perspective.”

“What we believe is that there’s a real opportunity for growing the fan base for this set of content globally. We think it’s been under-distributed, we think it’s been under-leveraged. There’s good signs that there’s fans out there, but we think we can grow that. We think about it as the inverse to Drive to Survive to F1. We could actually grow the international audience in a way that is material. We’ve organized the deal so that it’s a big long-term deal. In other words, there’s a little bit of risk insulation into the renting concerns that you mentioned before.”

So, and forgive me if this has been mentioned in here already but, what becomes of encore showings of Raw. Like if I miss an episode on Monday and want to watch it on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday, will it be on Netflix?

I believe so yes, not sure on how quickly but Im assuming a fairly instant replay. This could change if the next day rights are still kept separate tho bc rn Hulu has them but that deal expires when the USA one does

I'd think that it will be available ASAP for on-demand. What I wonder is how long the episodes will be available on Netflix after they air. Peacock has the Network, which gets Raw 30 days after the original airing. Will that mean Netflix loses their episodes of RAW after 30 days or will they be on both?
