There has been a definite crackdown of marijuana usage within WWE, which is not making many of the performers happy. The belief is that the drug testing is "serious", but the performers think management knows many people are drinking heavily and that painkiller use is high. Drinking is fine by the policy and painkillers are fine with prescriptions, and the heavy marijuana users, who have been warned to cut back, are beginning to turn to drinking and painkiller again.

It should be noted that there were 41 positive tests in WWE for marijuana usage that resulted in fines reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Testing took place between November 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008. It was reported on in 2008 that those who continued to test positive (which were many) were going to be facing more discipline than just simply paying a fine and were told to tone down their usage.

Ya, that's good... Make them stop marijuana, to start messing around with painkillers instead :shifty:

lol just let them do weed as long as they arent high before they gotta go put on a show (although it could be pretty funny if they were wrestling high). weed is harmless and painkillers are definitely not harmless. just let them do the lesser of 2 "bad" things.

Hilarious. You know, considering the fact that weed is actually less dangerous than both.

As long as they aren't high when they're wrestling or backstage or anything, it shouldn't be a problem. Considering both drinking and painkillers are worse.

What if someone gets high and goes in public, and does something to hurt themselves or someone else? Then the blame would be right back on the WWE.

Give the wrestlers a break imo. They do so much on the road for people away from their families, let them have a bit of Cousin Mary from time to time.

Yes, and considering the fact that weed is illegal.

I think it's funny how some people in here are getting upset that the WWE allows drinking and prescription pain medicine but not weed. I guess that, perhaps, you people have never heard of "the law". Alcohol is legal. Prescription medicine is legal. Marijuana is not.

Want to know why the WWE cracks down on weed, but not the other? Because weed is ILLEGAL, and the others are legal.

Have I made my point yet?
