Is not koolaid, its truth. Drinking koolaid is thinking the summer of punk mattered, that the 400 day reign did anything for a business when it doesn't increase attendance. Drinking koolaid is thinking Bryan matters because a whole arena chants yes while not buying his gear, flipping the channel on him on raw, or not coming to the sd shows he's advertised at.
Let's go to real world. There's one guy who was recently added all SDs and as such ticket sales have gone up by how name alone, same with the viewership and social media score. There's one guy who sells out arenas around the world as a full timer. Yes he gets Cena sucks chants, but I got news for you unlike people chanting CM Punk or Yes or Orton, they actually pay for Cena. They watch his segments, they set revenue records for manias he headlines, they buy his merch, they buy his tickets, and it's not just the kids and girls, but the same boyfriends, husbands, and fathers who hate on him come out of wallet for the Cena experience. Unlike the popular favors of the month who get cheered for or pops, Cena actually gets ppv buys and guys who aren't too cool to wear his stuff. Cena actually gets studios like HB call wwe up and say hey can we animate Cena into Flintstones and. Scooby Doo films. Cena is the guy who makes the. Jericho of the world look like jokes with a hobby when their music gets pumped up on TV and by the company yet doesn't sell while he drops a gold cd effortlessly. Cena the ambassador makes more wishes, works more days, comes back hurt sooner, and never fucks up in the press than the other apart of the roster. Forbes themselves cited Cena the brand and star as part of the reason wwe is generating so much and why they are looking at Nascar money, talking billions of dollars in their next TV deal because of how he has been at the forefront as the face of their social media, charity, TV, merchandising, live event, and sponsorship campaigns.
It is not koolaid at all. Cena is outright better at his job and as an asset than the next 5-6 full timers on the roster put together behind him. You don't turn that. If you were in Vince's shoes, you know damn well you wouldn't turn that when these other guys are 2, 3, 4, 11, 6 and so on time world champs who can't keep viewers or sell out sd tapings. You wouldn't so that when you have TV licenses coming up, a network to launch, and Cena on top as the good guy is behind every positive gain you've had the past decade in a wrestling ring and in the press.
I dont get get how anyone can't separate fact from fiction when it comes to things. Wwe is a business and Cena no matter what's chanted at him is always more of a net positive and profit than anything else. People can harp on but he, she, it, this guy, that guy wasn't given a full on chance and ignore that they flopped when given 400days to matter, 3-4 ppvs and countless SDs and summerslam to main event, and multiple title reigns and stables.
At some point maybe it's not Cena who needs to be turned. Maybe its the guys behind Cena who all need to be changed for better support like he had 5 years ago.
