The Sims Official Discussion Thread

So here's a pretty quick hot take, based somewhat on my personal experiences with these expansion packs, but also just how I feel about them in general.

Top 3 Must-Have Expansion Packs:

- Eco Lifestyle (Adds a bunch of stuff to the game and makes it so living Off The Grid is actually sustainable.)
- Cottage Living (You're now able to build a farm on your lot and own cows or goats, what's not to love?)
- Get To Work (Play as a Detective, a Doctor, or a Scientist, and actually do stuff at your job, or own a business. I like it.)

Top 3 Worst Expansion Packs:

- Star Wars: Journey to Batuu (Fucking garbage, I don't care about being a Jedi in Sims 4, I'd rather do other shit. If I wanted to play a Star Wars game I'd play a Star Wars game.)
- High School Years (One of the newer expansions and it's already completely pointless to the Teen life experience since for the most part the entire High School segments of the game are unabashedly trash.)
- Parenthood (Complete and utter waste of money tbh, I don't want to have to teach my toddlers how to do stuff, I already will have to do that in real life. Fuck off.)

Mediocre Sims 4 Packs:

Unnecessary Sims 4 Packs:

Worthless Sims 4 Packs:

I've been thinking about EA's complete overrun of expansion packs for Sims 4 and thought up a solution that would very likely make the community extremely happy. Instead of having to shill out $300 for this, why not put these expansions into compilations and sell them for approximately the same value as a single expansion? Basically a buy & save when Sims 5 comes out eventually.

Vampires, Werewolves, and Realm of Magic: The Supernatural Pack - $20
Parenthood, High School Years, Growing Together: The Coming of Age Pack - $15
Jungle Adventure, Snowy Escape, Outdoor Retreat: The Vacation Pack $20
Get To Work, Dine Out, and Get Famous: The Occupations Pack $15
City Living, Island Living, Eco Lifestyle: Alternative Lifestyle Pack $20
Get Together, Spa Day, Cats & Dogs: The Happiness Pack $15
Seasons, Cottage Living, Horse Rancher: The Rural Pack $20
Discover University & StrangerVille: The Knowledge Pack $12
Dream Home Decorator & Wedding Stories: Happy Endings Pack $15

Then I'd take all the "Stuff" packs, and bundle them together into one digestible collection for $10. Finally, most importantly... I'd banish Journey to Batuu to the shadow realm.

So I went with something a little more out of my depth with this. I call it "Hollywood Riche" because I tried to design is at much as possible to something obnoxiously rich celebrities would have, and I hope I captured it very well. If anyone does notice, I did subtly try to tie in a bit of a Mission style architecture too.

Another day, another Sims House. This time, I've taken the Shotgun house and expanded it a little to be two homes in one. One fit for a single person, and the other set for a small family.

Sometimes making houses just doesn't do it for me, making different kinds of lots is more interesting. So here's a nice little park that I imagine everyone has seen in their American town.

One of my most ambitious projects yet, I give you Windenberg Arena, Capacity: 600+. I based it off of many old Basketball arenas that had that old industrial aesthetic. The base I used for it was the old Minneapolis Armory, and I hope it turned out well.

Lemme know what you guys think, as far as it being a semi-realistic venue.
